But your theme makes me feel like trying
QtMoko again.

There is also theme called asthromod, which is very
beutiful too. The
 problem
with themes is that they are quite big to
be all in default instalation
 and i
 tried to solve this this
weekend.

My idea is to extend the appearence dialog with button or
option get
 more
themes which will preview all themes that we have
and you can install
 new
theme with single click. The problem is how
to package them.

First i tried to make theme packages with qtopia
package system which
 looked
 promising (package was created easily),
but then it turned out that this
package system can install only to
/home/root/packages and needs
 executable
 binary.

 So for now my
plan is to make .deb package for each theme. I started
 learning

debian packaging system and now i think i can do it.

 While learning
debian packaging i made source package of qtmoko [1]. It
 does
 not
have correct dependencies, but otherwise you can build qtmoko .deb

package
on PC host for ARM target. It's also possible to modify it for
ARM
 package on
ARM host (pass some more arguments to configure as
described here [3]).

While we are at it we could probably package all
other qtmoko apps as
 .deb
 packages.

If you are going to do
that, why not look at the proposed new standard
 packaging method?

It helped at least here :)

Theme looks nice and fresh, special thanks for new 'waiting clock'
picture :)

Ok, now good and bad things: good that with this theme more space due to
reducing size of top and bottom element. Screen layout efficiency is
extremely important on small screens, qtmoko layout were quite
inefficient. Especially top is really better now.

Now, that is missing:
1. i see no current active application title on top,

2. and one old bug, present in all themes, where is no icon to 'close'
'help'. I only suddenly discovered that second empty space is 'close'
button, then set up qtmoko to show text instead of icons occasionally. I
guess this is leading to big frustration for new users (including me
then i saw qtmoko for the first time), cause new users usually press
'help' and then ooopps, they see no way how to close it :)

Speaking about widgets, ideas, and i think it may be good idea to
replace battery icon with number with mA*h, add up current_now, replace
GSM signal strength with LAC and dB indicators, add memory and cpu load
indicators. I think none of qtmoko users will be scared of 'dB' or 'mA',
but this is much more informative that 'three bars signal strength' or
'my battery is red', time of segment displays are far away but segments
are still popular somehow.

The duplicate packaging system and ability to smoothly upgrade is the

Re: Audio path gain, was: Re: Bluetooth module

Yes, I really meant bass fix. I have replaced each 1uF cap with 2x 47uF
caps in parallel. They are isolated by heat-shrinking tube and
everything even fit under the metal cover.

It really helped a lot, no problem using my FR as portable player now.

I have taken some pictures ... anyone interested? I may put them online
if so.

BTW... although my phone seems not to be affected by GSM buzz problems,
I did buzz fix also just for shure.

I was doing bass-fix to my Freerunner today so I did the the same
measurement with generator again. I run Voice notes and set the
generator so that the amplitude was simmilar to the amplitude of voice,
captured by the microphone. LAter on I was listening to the files
recorded when setting the generator and the 1kHz beep was clean and the
  volume was OK.

It would be interesting to check if the installation wrote correct

Attached. Seems good to me.

It would be also interesting to shutdown qtmoko and run X server from ssh
 console:

 /etc/init.d/qpe.sh stop
 Xorg

The very same behaviour.

Theme with nixie tube indicators would be nice :-)

I wouldn't go for an android driver,
That driver doesn't have cfg80211.
It has only WEXT, and WEXT scanning(iwlist eth0 scan) doesn't work
because the scanning method is non-standard(iwpriv)

It could be modified to support scanning, but then what if a stack like
SHR or FSO start depending on libnl for wifi?

I think other drivers like wl1271 are better, they should be more
standard as they are integrated in the linux kernel.
wl1271 even supports AP mode.

wl1271 also has a redistributable firmware now.
From Kconfig:

CONFIG_WL12XX:

This module adds support for wireless adapters based on TI wl1271 and
TI wl1273 chipsets. This module does *not* include support for wl1251.
For wl1251 support, use the separate homonymous driver instead.

Does the chip need to have android support too?

Denis.

I just see two scripts there. I meant the files that are needed to create the
.deb files. But nevermind if you don't have them, am going to make a lot of
packages so i can package also your nice theme.
