[SHR] Why is the Powerbutton sometimes red and sometimes blue while loading

2009-02-07 Thread Detructor
Hi,

I just wanted to know, why the powerbutton (right side) is sometimes red
and sometimes blue while loading per USB? With the wallcharger it's the
same. Sometimes red and sometimes blue.

Is it a bug? Or does it show if the neo is loading with more power than
"normal"?

hmm...there is no WEP setting...only for WPA as far as I see o_0

why?

2008-10-06 Thread Detructor
Why is there no distro with GPRS/WLAN support?
After (dunno...5 or 6 months?) there is still no distro for the neo
freerunner that has a GPRS/WLAN support, that works.

yeah, you'll say "but there is the OM2008.x stuff" and I'll answer: it
simple does not work! I mean...WLAN works only per editing config files
(there is no working GUI for encrypted WEP WLANs) and GPRS...you've to
disable your PIN...sorry, but I don't have that much money, to let
someone steal my neo/SIM and use it to call his or her friends in china
or somewhere else. So it simple does not work.

Now you'll come with qtopia...and I'll say: yeah...errhm...there is a
GUI (good) but it does not work, because the ppp module isn't builded
into the kernel (mwester) and there is no kernel from nokia/trolltech
yet (why?)

hmmm...now, there is Debian, I don't know if it works there...because I
don't have the space to install it on the neo.

and FSO and SHR doesn't have images, yet. (FSO not before spring 2009)
and nobody knows when the SHR will come with an image.

Now...when will there be a GPRS capable image? 2009? 2010? never? or
packaged with Duke Nukem Forever in the software pack "For what you've
waited all your life" that ships just 2 days after my death?

getting error while trying to flash my neo freerunner

2008-09-04 Thread Detructor
Hey guys,

I hope you can help me, I've the following problem:

When I try to flash the neo on my laptop I get a
"Starting download: [dfu_download error -71"

sometimes the download starts and then I get the error.

When I get the neo in June, I could flash it without getting this error.

My operating system: Ubuntu 8.04.1

I ask here, because I can't find anything about this error in the www
(only 3 entries in google and none of it helps).

hope for help

Freerunner and my SIM card...how to check if it is detected correctly?!

2008-07-12 Thread Detructor
Hi,

I've a problem: The freerunner doesn't connect to GSM network with my
new SIM card from 1&1 (D2).
Now...is there a command to check if the freerunner has detected the
card correct?

You don't have to be a developer to update a Freerunner...the phone is
for advanced end users (advanced -> advanced knowledge of IT)
