If someone will host the 2gb+ file, I can provide an Ubuntu VMWare image that I made several months ago. A few people have downloaded it, and I am not sure how well it works for actual development. If I remember correctly, the F700 is using a Flash lite interface. Even though it does not have WiFi, it does have 7.2M HSDPA :) I am pretty sure it does have bluetooth though. 50g is a huge difference. It is the exact difference between a RAZR and an i-mate JAM (O2 XDA mini II, Qtek S100) is exactly 50g. Having owned both, I can tell that it is a very noticable difference. I did not know the Neo1973 was that heavy. This completely changes my view of the device. I personally do not want to carry anything heavier than an A1200 (120g). Ok, I have been having power supply issues with my desktop where the VM resides. A new power supply is on its way, but will not be here until next week. I do not want to make anybody wait that long, so I am recreating the image on one of my laptops. I hope to have it ready for download to a few people soon. Once it is confirmed working by a few people, then I will attempt to find a way to make a torrent (never done it before) and host it on my server. Guys/Gals, Cingular is not clear as to which data plan is the proper one to purchase for a specific phone. Some reps are well informed, while others are not. I currently have a Blackjack, and after 3 days of asking which is the proper plan I just decided to screw it and went with the $40/month plan. Some users have gotten away with the $20/month smartphone plan, and other users have not. It all depends on who you get on the phone. I figure it is a standard corporate thing for a company to issue overage charges, and refund them to those that complain, but let those that do not continue to pay them willingly. I can attest to the fact that communication within a phone company does not exist (used to work for BellSouth). Mike, from my personal experiences with Cingular, anytime I got overage charges from data, I refuted them and was credited back. All that is required is to threaten to switch usually. You do NOT have to sign a contract. Contracts are used to offer a discount on a phone, that you are not purchasing from them. All you would have to do is get a sim card from the carrier and have it activated with the voice/data plan you desire. All of this is from my 5 year experience with Cingular.
