Re: Sean: Please authorise the release of GTA01 schematics

Suggest you pull the GTA01 and properly strip out the material
protected by NDA. I can see it in part by highlighting all text on
page.

Re: FYI: AT&T to sell iPhone without contract

2008-07-02 Thread Joshua Broussard
No... True... This only gets it cheaper... The hack is on you, but
this makes it legal to hack the device due to a special exception to
the DMCA allowing the hacking of phones to allow use with compatible
carriers after the original terms of contract were satisfied - In this
case the paying of the early termination fee.

Get your $599 iPhone for $430-ish and come over to T-Mobile - the water is fine.

Re: FYI: AT&T to sell iPhone without contract

2008-07-01 Thread Joshua Broussard
AT&T early cancellation terms:

*"Cancellations/Early Termination Fee*: An Early Termination Fee of
*$175*may be assessed against you in the event that you terminate your
Wireless
Service Agreement and/or selected plan before the expiration of its
term. For Service activated on or after May 25, 2008, the Early Termination
Fee will be reduced by $5.00 for each full month toward your minimum term
that you complete. You may cancel your service, for any reason and without
incurring the Early Termination Fee, within thirty (30) days of signing your
Wireless Service Agreement, PROVIDED, however, that if you cancel service
you will remain responsible for any service fees and charges incurred. If
you cancel within three (3) days of signing your Wireless Service Agreement,
you will be entitled to a refund of your activation fee, if any. If you
exercise this option, you may be required to return devices and associated
accessories purchased in connection with your Wireless Service Agreement."

Get a 2 year and cancel it the 31st day. The $175 from this and $35 for
activation saves you $190 if you buy sans contract.

Well a little less if you count the cost of service...

If you must have the iPhone, get it in the way that you will get less
screwed...

Re: DE-crypting calls

2008-05-17 Thread Joshua Broussard
Some time ago, I stumbled upon a device that came in pairs and connected to
the Sony Erricson T61i. It claimed that, when used on each end it encrypted
the call. I suspect that the device contained some shared secret key. I wish
I could recall the data on it, or where I saw it. If such a mediocre phone
had an encryption add-on, could we not handle an encrypted call on our much
more advanced hardware?

I speak in theory only. I see no practicable reason to need to encrypt a
call. I much prefer other ways to transmit secure data...

Yes, it should work... Don't bother changing your stuff around...

Hi,

I am geting confused with the network settings:

Now I am, supposed to set usb0 to 192.168.0.202. Does that work with my
current configuration? Or do I need to have

192.168.0.100 PC
192.168.0.101 router
192.168.0.102 printer
192.168.0.200 usb0
192.168.0.202 phone

Thanks for your helpful replies in advance.

I think it will need to be $300 or less to sell large quantities.

I disagree... I think the primary focus should be
improving the UI and taking the features as close to multitouch as
possible... Forgive me if it has been covered, but Java phone from sun
looks really clean. Not sure the extent of the project, but if they are
already developing an interface that - no offense - looks leaps and
bounds better than what we have now, shouldn't we consider integration?
