Re: [SHR] Phonelog and hidden caller ids
Xavier Cremaschi wrote: Hi folks, phonelog crashes as soon as someone calls me from a phone with hidden caller id. There is a simple problem in /usr/bin/phonelog : the output of the error message fails because of a problem of python string and int concatenation. It seems easy to fix, by replacing : print foo + call + bar by print foo %d bar % call (never done anything in python, so not sure) But, by reading the code, it seems that phonelog will just output a message saying hey dude, delete call from database and relaunch, so does anybody has or is able to modify phonelog to handle this kind of caller-without-id ? Btw db still grows, so even if the app cannot be launched the FR still logs calls. Xavier Cremaschi. Hey Xavier, this is a realy bad problem. Here i found some lines handling Unknown Numbers, from line 367: #don't group supressed numbers #and make the contact Unknown Number if number == *: last_parent_added = None contact = config.get(suppressed_name) but on my phone Unknown Numbers are ...@- and I get the output: sqlite3.OperationalError: Could not decode to UTF-8 column 'number' with text '...@-' I think a simple script reading the sqlite db from /var/db/ would be good. be blessed Natanael -- Web: http://natanael.comiles.eu eMail: natanaela _at_ gmx.de ___ Openmoko community mailing list community@lists.openmoko.org http://lists.openmoko.org/mailman/listinfo/community

The main idea is to have multiple workspaces like on a linux desktop. the first is freely customisable with google, yahoo, apple-dashboard, karamba or other widgets, where you can also place quickstarters for the dialprogram and so on. so it is a combination of your INFO BOX and the SPEED DIAL area. the top bar is unneccesery on a freely custobizable screen. On every other screen there is the topbar wich is also freely custobizable with miniwidgets or tools like you know it from the kde-bar. I would replace he slidermenu with a gesture from left to right to reach the config. And an other gesture to reach an applicationmenu with favorits, taskmanager and other program categorys. With gestures from left to right or rigth to left on the top bar you can change throu all running programs. with a gesture from the top bar down you can change to the homescreen. I'm not sure how generally useful this feature is. I think having an easy, intuitive, constant way to copy/paste text on a device with no keyboard, will always be useful. Furthermore, I'd like to know that a long tap on a phone number will always offer to Call Number, SMS, Lookup Contact, Add to Contacts. A long tap on selected text should offer to Save Note, Send SMS, Send EMail. A long tap on text which includes a date/time should offer to add an event in the calendar too. A long tap on an address should offer to find it on a map. I'm sure there are many other instances where a long tap on 'something' should allow an action to be performed with it. People should chime in if they support it.
