Re: Where do I discuss these Ideas??
Aditya Gandhi a écrit : Ideas of various applications that be made for neofreerunner. First a little bit about me, so you don't start abusing me I'm a newbie to linux and an electronics engineer not a programmer, though have worked on non-os embedded systems. Great ideas ! Before this mail gets forgotten in the darkness of this list' archive, you should write down all you ideas in a wki page. It would also be easier to dig them if somebody decide to implement one of them. Re: AGPS question
Robin Paulson wrote: My brother has N95 with Agps and he does not have to provide his location while using agps service. it's probably using cell towers to guess at his location Right. I have a N95 too, and to have AGPS, I had to configure an AGPS server from my phone operator (SFR). I think they give the coordinate of the cell I'm associated to (easy for them to fetch this information). I'll take a look to see if this AGPS server can be used on my FR too. Re: SanDisk MicroSD Class6 8GB 4,90 Eur incl. shipping
Daniel Spies a écrit : Hi community, This is for Germans only: I just found a website [1] offering the Sandisk Micro SD 8GB Class6 card for 4,90 EUR including shipping costs. I ordered four of them, and am now waiting to receive them. As this MicroSD is stated in the Working SD Cards section in the Wiki it maybe worth a look if you don't have one already. [1] http://www.gimahhot.de/m900-349203-0-0-0/sandisk-memory-stick-micro-m2-ultra-8-gb-mit-card-reader.html Hi Daniel, Your link leads to a memory stick micro card with a card reader (sold 38,94€), not a MicroSD card. I can't find any 8Gb MicroSD card on their website, so I find two explanations : - they are sold out ; - the low price was a mistake and they removed the product when they saw it. Re: Finger stylus found...
Lothar Behrens a écrit : Hi, is this an alternative stylus ? http://www.daydeal.com/product.php?productid=16138 I know there are many accessory kits for the Nintendo DS that have this kind of finger stylus, and they are cheap (I've seen in a market a kit with several stylus for 3 or 4 euros). I'll see this evening if my girlfriend has one for her DS Lite (I remember having seen one) to test it on my FR. Re: [OFFTOPIC] money transfere fees [WAS] Pulsters outstanding orders
Clemens Kirchgatterer a écrit : WOW, man. you really should get another bank. maybe that's common in france, i don't know, but here in austria hardly anybody has to pay for money transfers (national and EU). if you have an expensive account you might have to pay a few cents, though. Hi, I've just checked on the internet the pricing of 2 another common banks in France (BNP Paribas and LCL) and alas it seem these are common pricing in France for international transfer (3,20€ for BNP and 3,90€ for LCL, so my bank seems to be one of the less expensive). Maybe there are cheaper banks in France for international transfer, but I don't know them. I hope these expensive pricing are balanced by other operations/services cheaper in France that for banks in other countries. It's difficult to compare, as there must have much different practices between two countries. Re: Pulsters outstanding orders
Carcinoma a écrit : Hi Community, I'm not happy about writing this Mail, but i think there is not better place. Does anyone received his Freerunner from Pulsters? I'm waiting 1 1/2week, since Pulster received the Freerunners from the Fab (was 25.08.2008). But every day which passes without receiving, i think, what does this man do, while he should pack the FR's and send it to its owner. I don't trust him anymore. At the beginning of last week, he mailed The Freerunners comes at the week. Nothing. This week they will be send monday. Nothing (no track id or mail reladed to the sending process). So what should i do? Today I'm waiting to long. Looking to the process at the wiki, mailinglist and so on will make me more unhappy. !!! Pulster when does you send me my Freerunner? !!! Hi, Same for me here, I ordered my Freerunner about 45 minutes after Pulster's announce on community mailing list (all Freerunner have been ordered in 1H30 as Pulster told me). This was on 27 june. On 1 July, as I didn't received any confirmation, I sent Pulster an email to ask him my order's state. On 2 July, Pulster sent me an email to tell me that my order has been taken into account, that I will receive a Freerunner from first batch and gave me all the payment instructions. I went to my bank on the same day to send the payment. On 15 July my bank account has been charged. This was due to poor speed of my bank to process an international payment, not Pulster's fault. On 23 July, as I didn't received any confirmation that my payment has been received and/or my Freerunner shipping state, I send an email to ask Pulster what was happening. He replied on 24 July that my payment has been received (didn't told when) and that my Freerunner will be shipped This week. Today, I haven't had any more news from Pulster about my order. I'm very disappointed, as I chose Pulster because Bearstech pre-orders where sold-out, and I expected to receive my Freerunner faster by ordering with Pulster than waiting for Bearstech's second batch of Freerunners. I'm adding to this Pulster's crappy payment options : no card, no Paypal, only bank transfer that cost me 3,50€ and take a lot more time. This is my experience with Pulster. arne anka wrote: from where in europe are you ordering? if you're inside emu when using iban your transfer is not allowed to cost more than a national transfer. I'm ordering from France (my bank is Société Générale), and they charged me 3,05€ (not 3,50€ as I said before, I've just re-checked), which is also the cost for a national transfer in my bank. ___ Openmoko community mailing list community@lists.openmoko.org http://lists.openmoko.org/mailman/listinfo/community

Jeremiah Flerchinger wrote: I would suggest re-using the Display Locker program created for 2007.2 that's referenced at http://wiki.openmoko.org/wiki/Current_Applications#List_.2F_Description_2 on the wiki. It was, to my understanding, added as a standard application quite some time ago. Why not using this one : http://wiki.openmoko.org/wiki/User:Quicksand#zedlock I like the idea of drawing a 'Z' anywhere on the screen. Comparing to a sliding-cursor unlock tool, I see many advantages : - no need to look at the screen. The 'Z' can be drawn everywhere on the screen whereas one need to aim the cursor in the other lock tool - it's AFAIK different from the unlock systems used on others phones, particuliary the Iphone (which uses a sliding cursor to unlock). Being different is an advantage : I don't want my FR to have an interface look and feel duplicated from the Iphone's one. Taking good ideas from the others is good, but not looking for being a clone (a clone will never be as good as the cloned model). My 2 cents...
