Re: Openmoko planet go crazy???[fixed]
Dear community, Sorry for the mess of the planet. The feeds from wordpress is buggy on rss2(~/feed/ or ~/feed/rss2/), so I changed all feed from wordpress.com to rss(~/feed/rss). By making this change, the issue from rss2 is resolved. However, the rss feed doesn't contained any timestamp info and the system assumes all the articles are new, which is the crazy planet you might see. At this moment, I change the feed to atom(~/feed/atom/) which avoid the issue on rss2 and rss. It looks nice and back to normal now. Sorry for the inconvenience. Ray Chao. Re: [2008.12] Repo information
Hi, Since there are no major changes regarding package installation between Om2008.8, Om2008.9, Om2008.10 and Om2008.12; we use Om2008.8 for simplifying the directory structure. Later today, I will put some notes about repo info on the downloads server to make this clear. Best Regards and Merry X'mas -- Ray Chao Openmoko System Admin. My only finding so far on the base functionality included is that the alarm doesn't wake the device from suspend. I did notice that the opkg configuration is still trying to hit 2008.8 repos - but the repo site doesn't include any 2008.12 repo's. Is this just a naming convention issue (after all, .12 is based upon .8) or will installing packages from here break things? Most of them work, but it should be set up with an seperate 2008.12 repo Apart from that - all looking good! Dear Community; We are glad to announce that we have a mp3-free image based on Om2008.9 in place. The link to this image is http://downloads.openmoko.org/releases/Om2008.9/ . IMAGE/MP3 licensing issue.
Dear Community; We are sorry that currently we have to remove all the images on the download server of Openmoko. http://downloads.openmoko.org/release/ We will make another stable release as soon as possible. At the mean time, we could rebuild those old releases without mp2/mp3. However, this might not stable due to the missing packages and we have no capability to test them all. So, ladies and gentlemen, please let us know, if you want these old and unstable images or any other ideas. Any feedback are welcome, and please, let us know what you think on this one. Re: OM Testing: task-openmoko-qtopia-x11 has unsatisfied gstreamer depencies
Hi Martin, Due to the license issue, it seems we took out a package and this is the reason gstreamer failed to install. And we couldn't distribute this anymore. I am sorry about this. At the mean time, we could not provide the codec to make gstreamer work, however, you could try to build a package with this mp3 codec. The following instructions should help you on this one. Hope this could help. Ray Chao Openmoko System Admin. This codec is controlled by a flag in OE ENTERPRISE_DISTRO in Openmoko buildhost, it been set to 1 now. Hi Martin, According to Julian, we were taking out a package due to license issue since last Friday, that should be reason for this issue. Currently, we are working on this. Please kindly wait for further notice of this issue within this thread.
