[SHR-U / All?] Illume Keyboard in Landscape
This is a complaint about the Illume keyboard not working in landscape mode. I love the keyboard (when it works), so I'd like to continue using it in landscape mode. Basically what happens is that the selection window and keyboard selector are shown, but the keys themselves appear as if they are below the bottom of screen. I saw a scap of it a while ago, but can't find it now. Is this a bug that is awaiting resolution, or is there some workaround? Are folks just living with it, or installing litterki as a default? Prior to those instructions, I rarely was able to answer a call from suspend before it went to voicemail prior to applying the above solution. I will try the suggestion of reducing the loglevel in u-boot. Quick question (or maybe not): My understanding of the bootloader is that it passes the system startup to the kernel, and goes home for beer. It seems that it still has a job to do after the kernel starts...what is it doing? I only ever remember grub being involved in a suspend situation when I was using suspend to disk. RE: [shr-u] wakeuptime, was Re: 2.6.31 is out, where is my ultimate kernel?
I'm still a bit confused. I'm in the same boat with others here where it takes between 3 and 4 rings before I can take any action on the incoming call. (shr-u and u-boot, both recently updated) What is the condition that allows one to take action on a call ~1 ring, and how does the end user get to that point? I think there are some who will point to Qi as a part of the solution, but I understand that this is a faith-based discussion. ;) I'd prefer to remain with u-boot for now until the suggested kexec kernel shows up to allow me to directly select the partition I wish to boot from. [ALL] uboot, SDHC, and ext2
I have been trying to make uboot boot my choice of distro (using ext2) on an SD card for quite a while without success. I had done it in the past with FAT+ext2 partitions, but never with a single ext2 partition. As a matter of fact, uboot had never been able to show the contents of my SD card's ext2 partitions. So I did some googling and found a discussion that seemed to relate to my problem: http://www.nabble.com/Problems-with-ext2ls---SD-ts22728281.html#a22756563 I tried the following: mke2fs -I 128 /dev/sd* copied a rootfs from one of the working distros, started uboot, mmcinit, and lo and behold, ext2ls listed the contents of the partition, and uboot booted it! I added the info to the discussion of the Booting_from_SD page, but I thought I'd bring it up here as well since I haven't seen this discussed in the wiki or in these lists. Is this well known? I'll make a couple of assumptions: 1)You're in the US 2)The OS SDG loaded is QTopia or it's ilk. If assumption 1 is correct; Go to your local AT&T store, show them your SIM card (I'll bet it's corroded if it broke the Treo on the way out), tell them to give you a replacement, put the replacement in your Freerunner, smile :). If the AT&T geeks tell you you need to upgrade, buy, or in any other way pay for a new SIM, look at them like they just lied to you, and repeat your request. If that fails, go to another store, or ask for a manager. They can replace your SIM free of charge. RE: [SHR-U] Contacts scroll / select broken?
I just found out that there is a buzz fix here in the US. I'm sending my FR out (it's packed right now) tomorrow morning. I'll check again when it returns and see if I'm having similar difficulties. Here too! My last attempt at install was unsuccessful, and it's still unclear whether it was due to SD partitioning or something else. Look forward to seeing something. RE: [android] new cupcake image
Just tested this, but having a problem. Kernel seems to boot OK, and the "Android" splash comes up, but then seems to loop (animation starts, pauses, then starts again). I'm wondering if it has something to do with the partitioning of the SD card? The wiki confused me because it instructs one to fdisk the card with 2 linux partitions (83), then format one with FAT and one with ext3. I fdisked the fat partition with vfat (0b) and formatted with vfat, could that be the problem? I'm interested as well. I'm in the Southern California area. I'm sure there's someone with the expertise in the area / country who can perform these fixes. Anyone? Has there been any word of one of these events or just someone in the United States attempting the same thing? I'd love to get the fixes (Buzz and GPS for sureperhaps also the audio capacitor?) applied to my freerunner, but don't have the soldering tools or expertise requiredI'm more of a software guy. =P Thanks, -Dan Staley ___ Openmoko community mailing list community@lists.openmoko.org http://lists.openmoko.org/mailman/listinfo/community No virus found in this incoming message. I'm writing up a notice to 5 of the 10 people from the wiki who were good enough to contact me to discuss payment options and a meet-and-greet. Through some basic collaboration, I went ahead and made the purchase. The other 5 people have a ticking clock before I sell their Freerunners to other interested parties! 7 days to contact me once they arrive (if they ship on Saturday, they should arrive on Tuesday). For those curious, a 10-pack of phones plus one debug board comes out as: 1x DBoard for $99.00 each 1x Neo FreeRunner - GSM 850-10 Pack for $3,690.00 each Subtotal : $3,789.00 USD Tax : $274.70 USD Shipping : $32.58 USD Total : $4,096.28 USD Looks like the tax rate is 7.25%, and the $32.58 is for 2nd day air via UPS.
