usb problem, device not detected, fried?
Hi for some reason, when I plug the FR on the usb connected to my pc, it doesn't recognize that connection, nor it charges. This is the same USB where it worked before and also tried with others, at the PC, (Ubuntu 8.04) when $> ifconfig usb0 192.168.0.200 netmask 255.255.255.0 SIOCSIFADDR: No such device usb0: ERROR while getting interface flags: No such device SIOCSIFNETMASK: No such device $> dmesg shows nothing ifup usb0 at the FR shows as device already configured, although usb0 is not listed by ifconfig when ifdow usb0, then ifup0 at the FR I get the error no such device. any tip on how to follow up? Ekiga for Openmoko, petition,
Hi, As I feel anxious about running an extension of my asterisk in the Freerunner, I wrote an email to the Ekiga people asking them to provide a Openmoko compiled binary for it. As I do most of my work on interpreted languages (Ruby) and I am compiler-dumb, it will take very long for me to get an Ekiga openmoko binary, so I selfishly asked to those who'll probably get it done in a very short time. Their email addresses are Ekiga's Author Main Coder and Project Maintainer: Damien Sandras Regular Contributors Regular Contributors: Kilian Krause , Julien Puydt , Luc Saillard , Jan Schampera , Matthias Schneider , Craig Southeren May be if they get enough whining... smime.p7s Description: S/MIME cryptographic signature ___ Openmoko community mailing list community@lists.openmoko.org http://lists.openmoko.org/mailman/listinfo/community

what about posting this exact question at groklaw? On Feb 7, 2008, at 1:00 PM, Sean Moss-Pultz wrote: Dear Community, Most of you know that OpenMoko is a fully independent company at this point. With this great opportunity comes many challenges. Today I would like to share one with you all and ask for some advice. We need to file patents for our hardware as well as software designs. While my personal views on software patents are inline with people like Eben Moglen, as a company, we are forced to play by the rules of the game. What I want is for a our company's patents to be freely available, for anyone, but for defensive purposes only. Are there any existing options available to us now? Does anyone know of existing companies or organizations with a similar strategy that we can seek guidance or partnership. Again, I want to emphasize that we only want our patents to be used in defense. And what constitutes defense is something that we want to be able to define (and potentially even redefine when new threats arise). Thanks in advance for the help.
