Phone arrive! - Torx required?

2007-07-27 Thread Jeff Rush
Yay, my basic Neo1973 arrived today. It looks quite cool smaller than I
expected and lightweight.

But I think I'm about to fail my geek status - can't figure out how to insert
the microSD card that came with it, without full disassembly of the unit. I,
uh, don't own a Torx toolset and didn't order the advanced model with tools.
I later decided I should have, but when I found out that changes move you to
the back of the order line, I stayed with the basic unit.

So, microSD installation w/o a Torx tool? And I guess a guitar pick as well,
to get at the back of the PCB?

get on irc :)

no, you don't need to open it up to get the card in. you gently slide
the metal shield to unlock it

Just slide the SIM card holder in the direction marked OPEN, and then hinge it
out of the way, then slide the SD card holder in the OPEN direction and hinge
it up as well. Don't use too much force since the whole assembly is a little
bit fragile.

Make sure you put the cards in the correct way around and then reverse the
process. The holders should click back into place when hinged back down and
slid into the LOCK position.

Cheers,
Paul
