Powering off with a kernel in panic.

2010-07-27 Thread Prekates Alexandros
i had a kernel panic (AUX flashing red constantly) but i couldnt power
it off or reboot my NF from power button. Is that a problem or the power
button cant function independently from the kernel ?

The power button can't cause a shutdown independent of the kernel. However you
can influence what happens after a panic with the panic=[timeout] boot
parameter. Unless you are in a position to debug a panic you probably want it
to reboot as soon as possible, so add panic=1 to your boot parameters.

Yes. Use the panic=60 boot option to make FR automatically reboot on
panic after 60 seconds.
