I have T-Mobile in the US and I get a 129 message, for the same events, so it
looks like it is
provider dependent.

Re: Provider missed calls messages

2008-07-19 Thread Russell Sears
It's probably related, but when the freerunner fails to ring, it doesn't
realize that I've missed a call. My old phone (same sim card) tells me
that I've missed calls even if it was turned off when the call came in.

Also, I am not getting the "you've got voicemail" messages that I used
to receive...

If this stuff is provider specific (I have T-Mobile in the US), will we
need some sort of database of providers and the message formats they use?

I also receive another sms from 123 once the message was aknowledged
(listened by me !). (maybe even 2 sms if I listen to 2 pending
messages...).
This one is to trigger the message icon down...

I had once seen some description of this kind of sms but have yet to
find it now... I do not know to what point these messages are
proprietary and specific to providers...
(but anyway my old phone worked the same with other providers -it was
initially bought with Orange contract-)

I also think I have already seen some talks about such sms
notifications in openmoko mailing lists...

Re: Provider missed calls messages

2008-07-18 Thread Cédric Berger
I now run Qtopia and my provider is SFR (france).

When I have got a message on my voicemail, I get a sms from "123"
(that is the call number of my voicemail). It looks empty in the inbox
of qtopia, but I will have to check what was really in.

On my old phone, it would just have triggered a "message" icon (and
sms would not appear in inbox).

I didn't get it. All I got was :

EVENT: Netreg registered (home network) LocationAreaCode = 0x0141 CellID
= 0x9C3A

and some messages when I left myself a message :

EVENT: Outgoing Call Progress: UNKNOWN
EVENT: Outgoing Call Progress: PROCEED
EVENT: Outgoing Call Progress: SYNC
EVENT: Outgoing Call Progress: PROGRESS
EVENT: Outgoing Call Progress: ALERT
EVENT: Outgoing Call Progress: CONNECTED
EVENT: Outgoing Call Progress: DISCONNECT
EVENT: Outgoing Call Progress: RELEASE
EVENT: Netreg registered (home network) LocationAreaCode = 0x0141 CellID
= 0x9C3A
EVENT: Incoming SMS stored at location 1

I guess it means a SMS has been delivered as notification for the
voicemail but I didn't get any SMS. I could hear the message on my
voicemail though.

Julien.

Re: Provider missed calls messages

2008-07-16 Thread smurfy - phil
Hm,

it could be a cell broadcast, but i know that is buggy in the moment.

try if you using 2007.02:

on the OM-Terminal or at a ssh shell:

libgsmd-tool -m atcmd

then insert:

AT+CSCB=1

you should see after a few seconds:
STR=`AT+CSCB=1'
RSTR=`OK'

So Cellbroadcasts are enabled now.

and now wait a while (2min or so)
if you don't get a message like:

Incoming immediate-display cell-wide Cell Broadcast message in LANGUAGE
(page 1 of 1)
"CONTENTOFMESSAGE

there is no default broadcasts :)

now try to reproduce the phonecall mailbox thing.

even its no cellbroadcast you maybe see a message pops up in the
libgsmd-tool that helps you to identify how your provider sends you the
you have new missed calls :)

libgsmd-tool is a nice tool to debug whats happens with gsm :)

hope this helps.

I don't get a SMS but a symbol is displayed on the phone screen (and a
LED is flashing too)

The provider is BouyguesTelecom (french) and the phone is a Sagem myC-4,
nothing fancy...

Provider missed calls messages

2008-07-16 Thread julien cubizolles
At the moment, I don't get any notification that someone let a message
on my provider answering machine, only that I missed a call, regardless
of any message. Is this feature doable, being worked on ?
