No. Qi can read fat and ext2/3 but not jffs2, reiserfs and so on. Since flash
uses jffs2 Qi can't read the /boot/append file.

just an idea: maybe it could read the u-boot-env partition for parameters ?

In the Qi source. You would have to change the defaults and recompile. Or add
jffs2 support to Qi.

Then I'd say this is a very desirable feature (kernel parameters when
booting from flash), if and when anyone tinkers with Qi again.

Qi can't read jffs2, in this case kernel parameters are hardcoded.

I'm booting from Flash, not SDcard.
Shouldn't the /boot/append file work the same? If it doesn't, where are
the kernel parameters defined?

dmesg doesn't give me any clues.
I removed the "quiet splash" from /boot/append-GTA02 and added
"glamo_mci.sd_drive=5", but none of it is sticking. It's ignoring the
file altogether, AFAICT.

Are you sure you're booting from SD? And that all you parameters are
on the first line in that file?

FWIW, my Qi is reading the /boot/noboot-GTA02 file, AFAICT.
See the thread with subject "Qi - how do I make it boot from another
partition on the SD card?" in this mailing list.
