would be nice, yes.

since you don't specify i can't really say anything.

assuming you mean buzzing:
buzz with the headset is said to be still there, because not related to
the known buzz fix.
to remedy this buzz one has to open up the shielded area inside fr and
solder around -- most likely inducing a whole bunch of other issues.

another fix is, to disable the mic of the headset -- ie either
mechanically by unsoldering the connection to a pin inside the fr, cutting
the wire in the headset or by shutting down via alsa.

someone proposed to create a state file that allows using the headset's
earpieces together with the built-in mic, ie going the alsa way, but so
far i didn't see one.
and since i am a complete illiterate regarding alsa lingo i can't do it
myself.

Are you really sure that the other party doesn't hear buzz? Because
given experimental data if you use a headset mic you'll inevitably
(and without any easy fix) have buzz.

I do have buzz using the headset (actually, both parties can hear the buzz) in
certain situations (I assume it depends on the quality of the GSM signal),
especially when riding a train while using the headset.
I assumed that buzz is a hardware problem and is thus not connected to the state
file you are using - the original poster seemed to have the problem of not
getting sound via the headset at all.

Konstantin

I was surprised to see anyone using a headset mic at all because it's
believed it's not usable because of the buzz. ;)

Well, it works nicely for me when I'm at home (where i usually take most phone
calls, anyway ;) ), and I actually use the headset quite often and for long (2
hours+) phone calls.
I guess it's like with the handset buzz and depends on various factors like
signal strength, gsm frequency and so on...

Konstantin
