well. that would defeat the whole security purpose of those badges -
if you can record what they send and play that.

technically it is possible to implement that of course. unless the
badge is smart - e.g. does some rsa crypto for authentication.
but very, very few people do that.

A requrement for this would be some communication with RFID. Do we
have enough crontrol over the radio, that we could communicate with
RFID?

According to Wikipedia the interesting frequencies are:
Low-frequency (LF: 125 - 134.2 kHz and 140 - 148.5 kHz)
high-frequency (HF: 13.56 MHz)
Ultra-high-frequency (UHF: 868 MHz-928 MHz)

even if it's not possible, i want to congratulate the openmoko team on
bringing back the excitement that i had when i first began working
with computers. i'm definitely going to purchase the first generation
phone, and more, and i'm looking forward to the ensuing innovation...
