Re: [Shr-Devel] some advertising
Oops, I had tested lightspark only on Youtube and I just tried it with Vimeo and it's not working for now. But in general, lightspark works better with videos than Gnash or other open source Flashplayer implementations like swfdec. I hope, they'll fix Vimeo support soon. You should try lightspark. It's open source Flash player implementation and has support for recent versions of Flash. And for only $300, it's on par with something like Lego Mindstorms. But if you just want a phone that happens to run Linux, but all of that opportunity doesn't actually mean much to you, $300 is probably a tough sell [just like Lego Mindstorms]. And, further: It /is/ really interesting developing software for the FreeRunner-- partly because the UI requirements are just sometimes so different than on the desktop--the screen is so much smaller, and the resolution is so much higher (something like 200 DPI, as opposed to 96 DPI on the desktop), and there's only one `mouse button', and no scroll-wheel (like back in 1999 ;)), and text can be smaller because of the high-density display, but things that the user is supposed to be able to click need to be bigger because of the resolution-mismatch between the screen and the *finger*. The interaction-models I was using in the VisualID-editor on the desktop turned out to be completely unworkable on the FreeRunner, for example. Take that as you may; to be compared to Lego Mindstorms or Erector Set (niche markets as they may be) seems like high praise, to me. -- "Don't be afraid to ask (λf.((λx.xx) (λr.f(rr." ___ Openmoko community mailing list community@lists.openmoko.org http://lists.openmoko.org/mailman/listinfo/community

(only html code on my personnal page...) Would you happen to have access to the server's Apache access log? If so, finding out how many times the video was downloaded should be easy - simply run grep on the log and count the result: grep FRvsP2.ogg /var/log/apache/access.log | wc -l This command assumes that that is the path to your vhost's access log and that the video is the only file containing that string in the name, and will print the number of times that file was accessed (aka downloaded in whole or in part). While this is at best an estimate of how many times/by how many people the video was watched, I think most other counters are no better, as all available methods miss and/or double-count /something/. Even if you don't have direct access to the log, you might want to check for availability of awstats or a similar log-based stats tool. -Frode ___ Openmoko community mailing list community@lists.openmoko.org http://lists.openmoko.org/mailman/listinfo/community
