[Compiz] [Bug 449254] Re: Workspace switcher columns functions incorrectly
I've seen some fixes that involve manually editing your gconf settings, unfortunately they did not work for me. What does seem to work, and sheds light on why the bug is caused, is to do the following: 1) Kill compiz (with something like 'metacity --replace') 2) Right-click on the workspace switcher (which probably now looks like a 1x2 box) and select preferences. 3) Change it to 1x1 4) Restart compiz (with something like 'compiz --replace') It seems that the workspace switcher that compiz uses or puts up in place of the regular switcher is using some of the regular switchers settings. Ah well. Interestingly enough I had a workspace switcher in another panel that was working fine, maybe that's why editing my gconf settings didn't work, because they probably need to have different settings. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of compiz packagers, which is subscribed to compiz in ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/449254 Title: Workspace switcher columns functions incorrectly ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~compiz Post to : compiz@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~compiz More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp

[Compiz] [Bug 336932] Re: New windows cause panels to be raised above fullscreen applications (e.g. screensaver)
Another thing probably related to this (so I didn't raise a new bug) and easy to reproduce: If you you have a few windows open on the desktop, say firefox, terminals, nautilus etc, then lock the screen by clicking the menu on the top right panel or ctrl+alt+L. Now plug in a USB memory stick. On my machine, all my windows appear on top of the screen saver, including the newly opened nautilus window that pops up for the memory stick. I'm just using a blank screen for the screen saver. This is on a fresh default Maverick x86 install, with default desktop effects enabled (set to normal mode on the dialog). As mentioned earlier, this has privacy and security implications. To see someone's locked desktop, all you need to do is plug in a memory stick. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of compiz packagers, which is subscribed to compiz in ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/336932 Title: New windows cause panels to be raised above fullscreen applications (e.g. screensaver) ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~compiz Post to : compiz@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~compiz More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
