[Compiz] [Bug 559183] Re: Windows flicker with a thick white border when resized

2011-01-15 Thread Paolo Montrasio
It also happens on ubuntu 64 bit (ati mobiliy radeon x1600). Same driver and
compiz configuration as Rune.
I got it working by running compiz with --loose-binding. Unfortunately I didn't
find a way to pass command line options to compiz when it starts up so I had to
hack it a little:

sudo bash
cd /usr/bin
mv compiz compiz.binary
vi compiz
#!/bin/bash

exec /usr/bin/compiz.binary --loose-binding $*
:wq
chmod 755 compiz
ln /usr/bin/compiz-decorator /usr/bin/compiz.binary-decorator
exit

Well actually 'semi' breaks
Previous to current update the plugin worked fine, both in Desktop unity and
Classic panel
Now the 'scroll on desktop' only works when a window is open on the workspace
one is trying to scroll away from.
So if on a workspace and you close any open window(s) then the scroll action
becomes non-functional
(all other rotate functions continue to work as before

[Compiz] [Bug 703458] Re: Disable moving window transparency

2011-01-15 Thread Jorge O. Castro
John,

iirc when we did the compiz settings review we enabled this feature
because the idea was to allow people to move and resize windows while
being able to slightly see through them to be able to see content in
other windows while making a move.

didrocks, I think more concerning are the comments that the performance
on the free drivers are a regression; I guess we'll see as people try
it.

[Compiz] [Bug 693073] Re: Panel and application Menus working but not visible

2011-01-15 Thread Sam SmSpillaz Spilsbury
So just FYI, this is actually 3 bugs in one:

The first was only really happening internally, and that was when we
were not tracking menus since they were override-redirect sometimes.
That is now fixed, and will be pushed along with the fix for crashing
flash in chromium and the crashing gnome-panel applets on load.

The second appears to be some kind of race condition where we are not
getting damage events - Either this was caused by some change in the X
Server (unlikely, since it doesn't happen with compiz 0.8) or we are
using the damage extension wrong (also seems unlikely, since the damage
extension is relatively simple, but we could still be using it
incorrectly). I'm currently looking into this with the Xorg people and
doing some debugging in XComposite itself to see what is going on. (You
can reproduce this one if you click to trigger menu creation and nothing
appears in some cases, but if you hover over where the menu should be,
it will then appear).

The third is a stacking issue and this has been around for ages and will
be looked into after the XComposite issue.
