[Compiz] [Bug 713892] Re: [natty] Desktop Cube no longer working
Wait, this actually sounds like metacity is running instead of compiz, that's the workspace switcher you're seeing. [Compiz] [Bug 713892] [NEW] [natty] Desktop Cube no longer working
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: compiz The Desktop Cube has recently stopped working for me in Natty. I've chatted with Travis, and here's where things stand: I've reinstalled compiz-fusion-plugins-extra, disabled and renabled the necessary plugins -- enabled Wall, which disabled Cube and the other related plugins, then re-enabled Cube, which disabled Wall, and re- enabled Rotate Cube and 3D Windoiws -- in case something had gone awry during updates, but still no effect. Also, when I hit CTRL-ALT-[LEFT|RIGHT|DOWN] I get a narrow strip pop-up, which says "Workspace " under iconic desktops, not even rotating there. Nor does Expo work on Super-e. It *had* been working on natty, and still works on Lucid and Maverick (on two of my other boot partitions). [Compiz] [Bug 713810] [NEW] Compiz randomly crashes
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: compiz In Ubuntu Natty 11.04 64-bit, installed from the Alpha 2 and all updates installed, Compiz randomly crashes. The windows are then still there, but without the borders. Also, unity is gone. Compiz version is 1:0.9.2.1+glibmainloop4-0ubuntu9. I am using the Asus UL30Jt laptop, and I'm using the integrated Intel graphics on the Core i5 520UM (I disabled the nvidia graphics with the acpi_call module). It looks like it's crashing only when I open up a new window / start an application, but I'm not really sure about that. I made a desktop shortcut with "compiz --replace" to start compiz again when it's crashed. [Compiz] [Bug 709461] Re: semi-random invisible window with x geometry on top layer possible, all viewport only (one ws though)
I can also confirm this on a standard gnome-session, not Unity. It often happens that when I'm trying to run, for instance Gnome System Monitor, it indeed opens but I can't see the window. What I can notice is that cursor changes into ][ as I were hovering over a text. Right-click menu is also available - I can kill a process, for example. It is VERY annoying. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of compiz packagers, which is subscribed to compiz in ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/709461 Title: semi-random invisible window with x geometry on top layer possible, all viewport only (one ws though) ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~compiz Post to : compiz@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~compiz More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
[Compiz] [Bug 685325] Re: Gnome menus & window titles missing
I originally reported this bug on #693073. My technical details are posted under that bug. I find the problem got a lot worse with yesterday's Alpha 2 image. Compiz crashes randomly. Clicking on the top right Ubuntu icon gives me a black nautilus window with no contents menus or anything else active. This crashes Compiz if I try to do anything with it. Nautilus opened from the 'file manager' icon on the sidebar works properly I tried to run ubuntu-bug compiz from the terminal, but lost it. Will try again! -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of compiz packagers, which is subscribed to compiz in ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/685325 Title: Gnome menus & window titles missing ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~compiz Post to : compiz@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~compiz More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
[Compiz] [Bug 693073] Re: Panel and application Menus working but not visible
The problem has become a lot worse for me in yesterday's image of Natty Alpha 2. Compiz has crashed on several occasions and left me no way out other than powering off. When I click on the Ubuntu icon (top left panel), I get a black window with no contents - I think Nautilus has locked although the file manager icon on the sidebar works. Gnome panel menus don't work at all until I have successfully run an app like Firefox. The whole process has become so random that I am at a loss to know how to report it usefully. compiz crashed in my system as well DELL Optiplex GX270 desktop. i downloaded Alpha2 yesterday but it seems it has a lot of bugs at the moment. when i restarted compiz it again crashed -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of compiz packagers, which is subscribed to compiz in ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/709380 Title: compiz crashed with SIGSEGV in sn_monitor_context_ref() ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~compiz Post to : compiz@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~compiz More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
[Compiz] [Bug 713504] Re: compiz fails to run with "GLX_EXT_texture_from_pixmap is missing"
Thanks for all the info. It is indeed a virtualbox driver problem. I installed the vbox open-source drivers (virtualbox-ose-guest-utils and virtualbox-ose-guest-x11) and compiz now runs. (I had to reboot three times before the desktop appearance manager worked without crashing but it all seems fine now.) -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of compiz packagers, which is subscribed to compiz in ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/713504 Title: compiz fails to run with "GLX_EXT_texture_from_pixmap is missing" ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~compiz Post to : compiz@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~compiz More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
[Compiz] [Bug 709461] Re: semi-random invisible window with x geometry on top layer possible, all viewport only (one ws though)
when you minimize a window there is an invisible window called 'untitled window' which gets the focus. now using nux trunk that 'untitled window' is called 'nux input window' I believe that is *the* invisible window causing the issue. bug 705536 and bug 693801 are on the very same issue(tm) -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of compiz packagers, which is subscribed to compiz in ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/709461 Title: semi-random invisible window with x geometry on top layer possible, all viewport only (one ws though) ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~compiz Post to : compiz@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~compiz More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
