[Compiz] [Bug 740126] Re: compiz hangs randomly several times per day
That looks to me awfully like an entirely idle gpu. My hypothesis is that the driver has missed the vblank interrupt, so the MSC compiz is waiting on will never be raised. Could you please add ‘drm.debug=0x1’ to your kernel command line and attach dmesg next time this happens? That should spit out appropriate messages to debug this. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of compiz packagers, which is subscribed to compiz in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/740126 Title: compiz hangs randomly several times per day ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~compiz Post to : compiz@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~compiz More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp

[Compiz] [Bug 746697] [NEW] panels come forward when any fullscreen application opens a new window
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: compiz On Natty, if any application in fullscreen mode opens a new window, then the Unity panel and launcher will come to the foreground on top of the fullscreen view. To see this, open gedit, choose View->Fullscreen, then press Ctrl+F for Find. As the Find dialog appears, the Unity panel and launcher will appear too. I've also observed this behavior in Gimp and Shotwell. It probably occurs in other applications too. This also happens when logged into the classic desktop: there, the gnome-panels come to the foreground. It does not, however, happen when running Metacity instead of Compiz in the classic desktop. So it apppears that the behavior is related to Compiz. ** Affects: compiz (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of compiz packagers, which is subscribed to compiz in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/746697 Title: panels come forward when any fullscreen application opens a new window ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~compiz Post to : compiz@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~compiz More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. However, your crash report is either missing or challenging to deal with as a ".crash" file. Please follow these instructions to have apport report a new bug about your crash that can be dealt with by the automatic retracer. If you are running the Ubuntu Stable Release you might need to enable apport in /etc/default/apport and restart. Now open your file manager, navigate to your /var/crash directory and open the crash report you wish to submit. If this fails you will have to open a terminal and file your report with 'ubuntu-bug /var/crash/_my_crash_report.crash' where _my_crash_report.crash is the crash you would like to report. If you get an error that you aren't allowed to access this report you will have to file it with 'sudo ubuntu-bug /var/crash/_my_crash_report.crash'. Thanks for the bug report. are you still facing the first issue of not being able to drag windows? [Compiz] [Bug 740840] Re: compiz crashed with SIGSEGV in CompWindow::id()
*** This bug is a duplicate of bug 743011 *** https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/743011 Same problem here, with amsn and fgo (FlightGear gui), but not Ubuntu (slackware64-13.1 based and xfce). I have latest compiz, from git as is today (March, 31), and backtrace says that some how it looks for a windows's id when that window is NULL (line 1292, compiz-core/src/even.cpp), and I've just changed a little before that a condition to get in some "if" every time this pointer is NULL, and it's working ok. I've haven't read carefully compiz source, I've just made some quick test and some guessing and come up with this (almost sure very wrong) patch that is changing the condition in line 1225 from event.cpp in compiz's source from: case ReparentNotify: w = findWindow (event->xreparent.window); if (!w && event->xreparent.parent == priv->root) ... to case ReparentNotify: w = findWindow (event->xreparent.window); if (!w) ...
