Re: [Compiz] [Bug 749084] Re: Dbus-Plugin of compiz not working
The API was updated. You need to s/allscreens/screen0/ . Also a lot of the list and introspection stuff is not yet implemented since there was no time to do it in the rewrite. This is an area for which somebody could contribute if they are interested. [Compiz] [Bug 753144] Re: focused, or maximized windows blank
I take your point, Josh, but it is easier for me to leave 11.04 on my machine and use the 173 driver than it is to reinstall a previous version of the OS. If I was to do that I would tend to go back to the last LTS version, and without looking, I just bet I've lost all the "howto" notes I made myself when I worked through the process of getting everything working in that! After forty years of marriage I have finally accepted that compromise and a workaround can be almost as effective as a fix. 8-) -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of compiz packagers, which is subscribed to compiz in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/753144 Title: focused, or maximized windows blank ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~compiz Post to : compiz@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~compiz More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp

[Compiz] [Bug 775325] [NEW] compiz windows decoration missing (no title bar etc)
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: compiz I upgraded a working 10.10 system to 11.04. Initially all was OK, but my desktop cube had been replaced by a 2x2 grid. I ran compizconfig-setting-manager and enabled desktop cube and immediately my window decoration vanished. But there is still a window manager running and I can move and resize windows using key/mouse short cuts. I can see two instances of compiz running (should there be only one?). If I run metacity, it says there is already a window manager. If I run metacity --replace, it runs and I get window decoration, but no compiz etc. I have read #577482 and tried all the fixes listed there - they have no effect (well most of them the file does not exist). I've tried switching off the desktop cube and going back to wall. This does not fix the window decoration. I've tried changing themes and editing my theme, also no joy. help ProblemType: Bug DistroRelease: Ubuntu 11.04 Package: compiz 1:0.9.4+bzr20110415-0ubuntu2 ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 2.6.38-8.42-generic 2.6.38.2 Uname: Linux 2.6.38-8-generic x86_64 NonfreeKernelModules: nvidia .proc.driver.nvidia.gpus.0: Error: [Errno 21] Is a directory: '/proc/driver/nvidia/gpus/0' .proc.driver.nvidia.registry: Binary: "" .proc.driver.nvidia.version: NVRM version: NVIDIA UNIX x86_64 Kernel Module 270.41.06 Mon Apr 18 14:53:56 PDT 2011 GCC version: gcc version 4.5.2 (Ubuntu/Linaro 4.5.2-8ubuntu4) Architecture: amd64 CompizPlugins: [core, composite, opengl, resize, vpswitch, regex, imgpng, winrules, resizeinfo, gnomecompat, move, cube, compiztoolbox, switcher, expo, scale, rotate] CompositorRunning: compiz Date: Mon May 2 14:20:35 2011 DistUpgraded: Log time: 2011-05-02 10:26:21.484785 DistroCodename: natty DistroVariant: ubuntu DkmsStatus: nvidia-current, 270.41.06, 2.6.38-8-generic, x86_64: installed nvidia-current, 270.41.06, 2.6.35-28-generic, x86_64: installed vboxhost, 3.2.12, 2.6.35-28-generic, x86_64: installed GraphicsCard: nVidia Corporation GT216 [Quadro FX 880M] [10de:0a3c] (rev a2) (prog-if 00 [VGA controller]) Subsystem: Lenovo Device [17aa:2145] InstallationMedia: Ubuntu 10.10 "Maverick Meerkat" - Release amd64 (20101007) InstallationMedia_: Ubuntu 10.10 "Maverick Meerkat" - Release amd64 (20101007) JockeyStatus: xorg:nvidia_current - NVIDIA accelerated graphics driver (Proprietary, Enabled, Not in use) MachineType: LENOVO 4318CTO PackageArchitecture: all ProcEnviron: LANGUAGE=en_AU:en PATH=(custom, user) LANG=en_US.UTF-8 LC_MESSAGES=en_AU.UTF-8 SHELL=/bin/bash ProcKernelCmdLine: BOOT_IMAGE=/boot/vmlinuz-2.6.38-8-generic root=UUID=498b8c2b-db0b-42b0-9e83-b3895ab75cc6 ro quiet splash vt.handoff=7 ProcVersionSignature_: Ubuntu 2.6.38-8.42-generic 2.6.38.2 Renderer: Unknown SourcePackage: compiz UpgradeStatus: Upgraded to natty on 2011-05-02 (0 days ago) dmi.bios.date: 10/27/2010 dmi.bios.vendor: LENOVO dmi.bios.version: 6NET74WW (1.34 ) dmi.board.name: 4318CTO dmi.board.vendor: LENOVO dmi.board.version: Not Available dmi.chassis.asset.tag: No Asset Information dmi.chassis.type: 10 dmi.chassis.vendor: LENOVO dmi.chassis.version: Not Available dmi.modalias: dmi:bvnLENOVO:bvr6NET74WW(1.34):bd10/27/2010:svnLENOVO:pn4318CTO:pvrThinkPadW510:rvnLENOVO:rn4318CTO:rvrNotAvailable:cvnLENOVO:ct10:cvrNotAvailable: dmi.product.name: 4318CTO dmi.product.version: ThinkPad W510 dmi.sys.vendor: LENOVO version.compiz: compiz 1:0.9.4+bzr20110415-0ubuntu2 version.ia32-libs: ia32-libs 20090808ubuntu13 version.libdrm2: libdrm2 2.4.23-1ubuntu6 version.libgl1-mesa-dri: libgl1-mesa-dri 7.10.2-0ubuntu2 version.libgl1-mesa-dri-experimental: libgl1-mesa-dri-experimental N/A version.libgl1-mesa-glx: libgl1-mesa-glx 7.10.2-0ubuntu2 version.nvidia-graphics-drivers: nvidia-graphics-drivers N/A version.xserver-xorg: xserver-xorg 1:7.6+4ubuntu3 version.xserver-xorg-video-ati: xserver-xorg-video-ati N/A version.xserver-xorg-video-intel: xserver-xorg-video-intel 2:2.14.0-4ubuntu7 version.xserver-xorg-video-nouveau: xserver-xorg-video-nouveau 1:0.0.16+git20110107+b795ca6e-0ubuntu7 ** Affects: compiz (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: Invalid ** Tags: amd64 apport-bug compiz-0.9 natty regression-update ubuntu -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of compiz packagers, which is subscribed to compiz in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/775325 Title: compiz windows decoration missing (no title bar etc) ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~compiz Post to : compiz@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~compiz More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp

[Compiz] [Bug 751311] Re: shadow under focused window is too big and can't be made smaller
Found that this is happening because shadows settings are coded in a xml file related to the metacity theme in use. The involved file is /usr/share/themes/your_theme_name/metacity-1/metacity-theme-1.xml The guilty tags are the ones. You can either edit settings directly in this xml, or in a copy theme, or comment those shadow tags, which will give powers back to the compiz configuration utility. The xml approach has the advantage that settings can be customized for different kinds of windows, while the standard compiz configurator only allows to edit a global setting. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of compiz packagers, which is subscribed to compiz in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/751311 Title: shadow under focused window is too big and can't be made smaller ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~compiz Post to : compiz@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~compiz More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp

This bug keeps on happening. Its been happening since 40 days. That is when i upgraded from maverick to NATTY. It happens on kernels 2.6.36, 2.6.38, the generic ubuntu kernel too. I tested it with 5 different kernels. [Compiz] [Bug 775044] [NEW] Compiz window unable to regain focus after selecting a rolled up window
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: compiz ** Description ** After selecting (focusing) a rolled up window, selecting another window will not be possible, since it will not gain focus. ** How to reproduce ** 1. Go to "System Settings" > "Windows" 2. Set "Titlebar Action" > "Double-click titlebar to perform this action" > "Roll up" 3. Open window 4. Open second window 5. Select the first window and double click the titlebar to roll it up 6. Select the second window 7. Select the first window again (which is still rolled up) 8. Select the second window again (it will not be able to obtain focus) This has been tested on both Unity and Classic environments of 11.04, with the same results. Classic without effect (Metacity) isn't affected. This particular report was based on a virtual machine, but problem is reproducible outside of it. [Compiz] [Bug 732050] Re: Dual display blanks both screens . Can only see the cursor
I get exactly the same problem in an HP dv3 with a fresh-installed Natty. I'm using the proprietary driver from ATI (v11.4) with unity and compiz running. I have radeon and intel_ips modules blacklisted. When I connect the external VGA monitor it goes to login screen and, if I do login, I get two black screens with a frozen mouse pointer in the middle of both. Booting up with the monitor already plugged in yields the same scenario. Occasionally, I can see a stack trace blinking on and off both monitors. I'll try to get a photo of it. I also tried booting with recovery's failsafe mode and setup xorg.conf for a dual-head with "$ aticonfig --initial=dual-head -f", but it didn't solve it :( -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of compiz packagers, which is subscribed to compiz in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/732050 Title: Dual display blanks both screens . And another one here. Edge-flipping 'sometimes' works. Sometimes it will left flip, but not right flip. Or I'll flip right and flip back left again, but then I can't flip right again. Disabling and reenabling Viewpoint Switcher makes it work reliably, but this corrupts the panel, and after I logout and login again to reset this, it's back to 'sometimes' working. Just now I tried making left edge flip on 'bottom-left' and right flip on 'bottom-right'. It wouldn't flip, then it flipped left once, and wouldn't do anything again. Changed it back to left-flip wit 'left' only and right flip with 'right' only, and it left flipped once and then wouldn't budge. I can no pattern at all. [Compiz] [Bug 774777] [NEW] KDE Compatibility issue in DockbarX
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: compiz There is a bug in the new Compiz version in Ubuntu 11.04 version (in GNOME classic mode) with the window previews in DockbarX. When I enable the KDE Compatibility Compiz plugin and enable the window previews in DockbarX the preview appears behind the popup which is a problem. Here is a screenshot of the issue: http://goo.gl/ha234 This used to work perfectly in older versions of Compiz and Ubuntu. It's probably a bug caused by the C++ rewrite of Compiz. I have notified the developer of DockbarX about this but he said that it is a bug with Compiz and the only way to fix it is to contact the Compiz developers. Same problem here with a Radeon HD 4770. And I just solved it, like eundas, in OpenGL plugin in the CompizConfig Settings Manager : when disabling vsync. And trust me, the problem is solved but the vsync is not disabled. In fact it seems that this vsync option was over another one, the driver one (set in amdcccle), and the both resulting in a very slow display, even slower than a picture out of two. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of compiz packagers, which is subscribed to compiz in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/760814 Title: Compiz Very Slow and Choppy in Natty Classic ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~compiz Post to : compiz@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~compiz More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
