[Compiz] [Bug 792080] [NEW] VLC breaks the graphical system

2011-06-05 Thread Launchpad Bug Tracker
You have been subscribed to a public bug:

Binary package hint: vlc

When started (for example, from a terminal using the command "vlc"), the
graphic system doesn't work fine anymore. The attached screenshot gives a clear
idea of the problem.
In addition, sometimes "compiz-decorator" crashes (maybe it's a problem with
compiz itself?)

[Compiz] [Bug 348848] Re: move window to workspace shortcut keys don't work

Actually, the (incorrect, useless) behaviour is as malraux specified.
All windows are moved to the same workspace, top-right.

Workaround simply does not work for me. After enabling put and
specifying the key bindings, those key bindings do nothing.

[Compiz] [Bug 793293] [NEW] DoS window manager with extremely long error

2011-06-05 Thread Launchpad Bug Tracker
You have been subscribed to a public bug:

Binary package hint: pitivi

displaying extremely long error causes the window manager to crash.
if the keyboard doesn't respond , login in tty and run "compiz&" .

test case :

emanuel@emanuel-desktop:~$ pitivi `python -c "print 'A'*10"`
/usr/lib/pitivi/python/pitivi/ui/mainwindow.py:827: GtkWarning: Native Windows
wider or taller than 65535 pixels are not supported
  dialog.run()
pitivi: Fatal IO error 11 (Resource temporarily unavailable) on X server :0.0.

sometimes it print other messages :

emanuel@emanuel-desktop:~$ pitivi `python -c "print 'A'*10"`
/usr/lib/pitivi/python/pitivi/ui/mainwindow.py:827: GtkWarning: Native Windows
wider or taller than 65535 pixels are not supported
  dialog.run()
The program 'pitivi' received an X Window System error.
This probably reflects a bug in the program.
The error was 'RenderBadPicture (invalid Picture parameter)'.
  (Details: serial 466 error_code 158 request_code 148 minor_code 8)
  (Note to programmers: normally, X errors are reported asynchronously;
that is, you will receive the error a while after causing it.
To debug your program, run it with the --sync command line
option to change this behavior. You can then get a meaningful
backtrace from your debugger if you break on the gdk_x_error() function.)

[Compiz] [Bug 754948] Re: Desktop Wall & Viewport Switcher: Bindings for "Next" and "Prev" workspaces dont work. Bindings that use screen edges don't work.

2011-06-05 Thread BryanFRitt
The "desktop Wall's 'Move Prev' and 'Move Next' not working" is a
separate bug from "Bindings that use screen edges and mouse click's
don't work".

Even with a version of Compiz that don't have the edge button bindings problem*,
If the current viewport is a leftmost or a rightmost viewport the shortcuts for
'Move Prev' and 'Move Next' don't do anything. ('Move Left' and 'Move Right'
ones still work, but not the 'Move Prev' and 'Move Next' ones)

By 'Move Prev' and 'Move Next' don't work on leftmost or rightmost viewport, I
mean something like this:
Say there's 16 viewports, in 4x4 form:
01 02 03 04
05 06 07 08
09 10 11 12
13 14 15 16
Then the bindings for 'move prev' and 'move next' don't do anything when the
current viewport is:
01 04
05 08
09 12
13 16
and it will work when the current viewport is:
   02 03
   06 07
   10 11
   14 15
Again this is only with a version of Compiz that doesn't have the edge button
problem*
*Tested with Compiz 0.9.2.1

Ah yes, it wouldn't work on oneric since the metacity keybindings in
gnome-control-center were removed. I'll have to make a new package
which disregards that when I get time.

[Compiz] [Bug 755459] Re: invisible window again

2011-06-05 Thread Tom Adams
Sam:

bzr bd failed. It complains about /usr/lib/cdbs/strip-schema.pl not
existing (cdbs is installed), but I think what killed it was /usr/share
/gnome-control-center/keybindings/50-metacity-desktop-key.xml not
existing.

Is this designed to build on natty or oneiric? I'm using oneiric.

[Compiz] [Bug 774059] Re: Scale by Window group not working

2011-06-05 Thread DavidBriscoe
Oh, and the mouse and hot corner bindings don't work either.

But if I set a shortcut like Ctrl-Shift-b, and then try to use Ctrl-
Shift-b in another application (to open the bookmark bar in Chrome),
then the shortcut seems to be intercepted by compiz and Chrome's
bookmark bar doesn't open.

[Compiz] [Bug 774059] Re: Scale by Window group not working

2011-06-05 Thread DavidBriscoe
Someone commented that it works for them:
http://askubuntu.com/questions/39735/how-do-i-use-initiate-window-
picker-for-window-group-in-compiz

And clicking on an application in the launcher scales the group works,
but there's no keyboard shortcut to scale the group.

If it helps, I'm on a clean install of Natty. I think I imported old Compiz
settings, and then reset them to defaults.

Re: [Compiz] [Bug 755459] Re: invisible window again

2011-06-05 Thread Sam "SmSpillaz" Spilsbury
Sweet,

Have a look at http://smspillaz.wordpress.com/2011/06/05/anybody-still-
getting-bug-709461/

Make sure its not the same as the "invisible window in the area where
the switcher used to be" issue. That's a different bug.

Hi Pedro, thanks for looking into this!

No, it seems this particular problem went away. (There doesn’t seem to
be a “video” plugin in Compiz now, so that’s not a surprise.)

Nope, sorry. It doesn’t happen on my work computer, but it still happens
on my home machine. They both have nVidia cards, running the same
drivers AFAIK.

** Changed in: compiz (Ubuntu)
