[Compiz] [Bug 763005] Re: Compiz's "Sync to Vblank" makes display stutter/slow with some drivers (like fglrx)
Not sure why it's missing because the new fix is dated earlier than 20110919. Probably just the bzr->git import pulling in dates from bzr which are older than when the pull actually occurred. Missing in oneiric: http://bazaar.launchpad.net/~ubuntu-branches/ubuntu/oneiric/compiz/oneiric/view/head:/plugins/opengl/src/screen.cpp But present upstream: http://git.compiz.org/compiz/core/tree/plugins/opengl/src/screen.cpp No matter -- the fix exists upstream and should be seen next time oneiric pulls from upstream compiz. HI Jay, thanks for working on it. Just a quick question. Did you use the Mirror displays option? In mirroring it works fine for me too, but the external display can't have resolution larger internal's display. That is why you weren't able to set '1280x1024'. I can run my external display at the same resolution as internal (1280x800) in mirroring. [Compiz] [Bug 808677] Re: Failed to activate external monitor (dual monitor mode)
I have tested with a fresh install of Oneiric on a intel core i3 system. I cannot reproduce the issue mentioned. My internal display is resolution is 1280x800 while my external monitor is 1280x1024. The gnome control panel offers the following resolutions for the external monitor: - 1024x768 - 800x600 I can run in dual monitor config with my internal resolution maxed at 1280x800 and any of the resolutions above for the external monitor. The control panel used to propose the option to choose the maximum resolution of my external monitor (1280x1024) but it doesn't do that anymore. It has been like that for a month or so. Previously, if I had tried to use the max resolution of the external monitor, things would become very slow as if running in software. So I suppose the control panel is more clever now and only offers resolution that can be supported. [Compiz] [Bug 856310] Re: (oneiric) update manager puts main window on one screen, progress window on another screen
update-manager certainly has no idea about the boundaries between screens in the output (and architecturally, should not). Maybe it can be doing a better job of asking the window manager to place its progress window nearby, but I'm guessing we need this to be handled by the window manager itself (i.e., compiz). Reassigning. ** Package changed: update-manager (Ubuntu) => compiz (Ubuntu) -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of compiz packagers, which is subscribed to compiz in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/856310 Title: (oneiric) update manager puts main window on one screen, progress window on another screen To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/compiz/+bug/856310/+subscriptions ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~compiz Post to : compiz@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~compiz More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp

[Compiz] [Bug 856310] [NEW] (oneiric) update manager puts main window on one screen, progress window on another screen
You have been subscribed to a public bug: I am running Oneiric beta on a laptop with an external monitor. When I start update-manager, it is displayed on the laptop screen. After initiating an update, the progress window is displayed in the middle of the other screen. This is a confusing and unpleasant experience for the user. Expected behaviour?
