[Compiz] [Bug 855991] Re: compiz crashed with SIGSEGV in XFindOnExtensionList()
Rory, logs and backtrace or it didn't happen. (This looks much like an NVIDIA-specific bug so far. [Compiz] [Bug 851472] Re: compiz crashed with SIGSEGV in _XFreeEventCookies()
It did not occur while doing what #15 says, but I confirm I also could reproduce a bug like #15 said. In my reproduction (after the "real" occurrence ), Apport did not start, I had a system hang-out for a second, then the top bar reapeared. Re: [Compiz] [Bug 831769] Re: compiz crashed with SIGSEGV in sigc::signal_base::impl()
Hi Klaus Yes I have had Unity 3D working in Oneiric Beta. I think are are plenty of problems related to the Unity Plugin. It seems though to be a bit more stable after the latest Beta 2 updates have come through and been applied. Sometimes I have started CCSM, switched on say, Window Decorations or the Desktop Cube and have then tried to resolve plugin conflicts. This is the point where the system reports a Compiz crash. I think the best strategy is to uncheck the Unity Plugin in CCSM, switch on the effects you want, resolve any conflicts and then switch on the Unity Plugin again. Sometimes an attempt to start Gnome 3 instead of Unity 3D results in the Unity Plugin unchecking itself and then you have to start the whole thing once more from the beginning. This whole idea of the Unity Desktop being so dependent on a Compiz Plugin is not a wonderful idea IHMO. The thing is still fundamentally broken sadly. Gnome 3 will not run properly at all on my system even if gnome-shell is installed in its latest incarnation. On another subject entirely to you have a relative called Werner Reichl in Vienna? [Compiz] [Bug 750386] Re: compiz crashed with SIGABRT in raise()
I've been able to reproduce (bug 860317) I opened a session and had a staking problem with the switcher, opened a terminal and entered "unity --reset" to see if it improved things. Since I didn't run the command in the background and couldn't close the terminal, I opened another tab and entered the command again "unity --reset &" I tested alt-tab again to check if it fixed the problem (it did, at least for that session) then closed both terminal tabs with CTRL+D, this crash happened on close of the terminal ** Changed in: compiz (Ubuntu Oneiric) Status: Incomplete => Confirmed ** Changed in: unity (Ubuntu Oneiric) Status: Incomplete => Confirmed -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of compiz packagers, which is subscribed to compiz in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/750386 Title: compiz crashed with SIGABRT in raise() To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/unity/+bug/750386/+subscriptions ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~compiz Post to : compiz@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~compiz More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
