[Compiz] [Bug 824099] Re: Max GL texture size can break multi-head
I should note that the description is somewhat inaccurate: 1) Multi-head isn't really the problem, just the easiest way to reproduce it. A single display with a high enough resolution can trigger it as well. 2) There are two separate limits: max texture size and max framebuffer size. The former can be worked around by breaking large windows into multiple textures, but this won't help the latter. GL init fails and all drawing operations do nothing, leaving the user with a display of random uninitialized VRAM (i.e. corrupted display, thick slanted lines, chunks of wallpaper etc). -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of compiz packagers, which is subscribed to compiz in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/824099 Title: Max GL texture size can break multi-head To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/unity/+bug/824099/+subscriptions ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~compiz Post to : compiz@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~compiz More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp

[Compiz] [Bug 771448] Re: desktop wall edge flipping broken
with the help of previous comments i think that i found a workaround to that bug. it seems that the default mousepoll plugin polling time of 40 ms is causing that bug. when you set the polling time to maximum value of 500 ms (and do a compiz --replace, because it doesnt seem to change that on the fly) edge flipping works like a charm. so, if you dont use magnifier, enhanced desktop zoom or show mouse plugin which all depend on the mousepoll plugin, you can easily set the polling time to maximum value without unwanted effects. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of compiz packagers, which is subscribed to compiz in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/771448 Title: desktop wall edge flipping broken To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/compiz/+bug/771448/+subscriptions ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~compiz Post to : compiz@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~compiz More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp

You have been subscribed to a public bug: Recently upgraded to Oneiric. [Compiz] [Bug 897291] [NEW] Compiz Crashes When Screen is Locked and Laptop Docked
Public bug reported: I am running Ubuntu 11.10 with the default screen lock. I have an HP Elitebook that I mount to a docking station at work. There appears to be an issue with the "Turn off after" feature of the screen lock and being docked. For example, if I set "Turn off after" to 30 minutes, if I am away from my computer for more than 30 minutes, when I come back, then the window manager (Compiz) will have crashed. If I change it to 10 minutes, and come back in 15 minutes, then Compiz will have also crashed. However, if I return before it has attempted to shut the screen off, then everything is fine. Also, this doesn't seem to ever happen when hooked up to an external monitor or when the laptop is undocked. My "Screen" settings are currently set to: Turn off after: 1 hour Lock: On Lock screen after: Screen turns off I don't know if there is a way to log what has caused the Compiz crash, but this is a very annoying bug. ** Affects: compiz (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of compiz packagers, which is subscribed to compiz in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/897291 Title: Compiz Crashes When Screen is Locked and Laptop Docked To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/compiz/+bug/897291/+subscriptions ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~compiz Post to : compiz@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~compiz More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp

[Compiz] [Bug 798868] Re: unity video tearing when moving windows in oneiric with nvidia-current
Hard to tell if it's the same effect as in original posting, but the description of Reid Kaufman, Nate Wiebe fits best. Good and smooth desktop performance only moving windows around is like slow-mo. Windows lagging behind mouse cursor when being moved about 1-2 seconds (resizing as well) - smooth non flickering, but way too slow. I installed a fresh oneiric ubuntu 11.10 on my netbook Samsung NC10 with intel graphic (OK, no probs) and on my desktop with onboard nVidia 8300 (slow window movement here!). Out of frustration after "nvidia-current" and "current with updates" and most recent from nvidia website in combination with vsync on/off, tripplebuffer tricks a.s.o. didn't work I finally switched both machines to Lubuntu 11.10. Everything OK on both machines because no compositing on desktop by default. As I wanted some eyecandy I installed xcompmgr on both machines with just shadows attached to my windows: the effect is back on my nvidia- machine just like on ubuntu/unity! So I suppose it's not unity but nvidia + compositing (+ current xorg- version-of ubuntu?) I have no idea where to search nor what to post to help to find a solution to this. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of compiz packagers, which is subscribed to compiz in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/798868 Title: unity video tearing when moving windows in oneiric with nvidia-current To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/unity/+bug/798868/+subscriptions ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~compiz Post to : compiz@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~compiz More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp

[Compiz] [Bug 874255] Re: Expo in multi-monitor (upside-down) shows corrupted
Same problem with Ubuntu 11.10 Unity 64bit, ATI 5750 and open source drivers. On a left-right screen configuration left screen render the effect correctly while the right screen is corrupted (like in Stéphane screenshot) and doesn't accept mouse input while I would expect Expo to mirror the effect and accept input from either screen. [Compiz] [Bug 896942] [NEW] orange window snap box appears when approaching launcher
You have been subscribed to a public bug: Whenever I change work space and then try to approach the launcher I get the window snap orange box on the left side of the screen when I don't even have a a window being dragged at it, then the orange box stays there until I grab a window and then snap it. This seems to happen whenever I change work space and immediately try to use the launcher.
