This is not limited to nvidia; I saw this yesterday (only) on my Intel
Sandybridge system - complete with the little non-white 'tick' at the
end. I've seen it exactly once, though, and it disappeared with a Unity
restart. Unlike Jason, I don't get this consistently.

I'm testing all of these on 12.04 and cannot reproduce them. I'm
assuming they're all fixed by now. Please confirm.

For future reference, it would be most helpful if you could log each
individual problem separately - power in small numbers :).

Thank you!

[Compiz] [Bug 939228] [NEW] Windows randomly changing workspaces

2012-02-22 Thread Marc Deslauriers
Public bug reported:

For the past week and a half or so, when switching between workspaces,
all of a sudden a window gets moved to a different workspace.

For example, I'll have a couple of windows on workspace 1 and a couple
of windows on workspace 2, and switching between them, all of a sudden,
one of my windows is now located on workspace 3, underneath the unity
launcher for no apparent reason.

This wasn't happening a couple of weeks ago, and now happens multiple
times a day.

[Compiz] [Bug 684925] Re: remove Super + scroll shortcut in enhanced zoom

2012-02-22 Thread Chauncellor
FYI, Mac OS implemented a behavior so that if a user starts using the
mouse with zoom set to >=25%, it will automatically zoom back out.

Still, I've seen some mac users confused as to how they got a zoom
anyway. So it may be preventative but it in no way eliminates.

[Compiz] [Bug 608877] Re: Doesn't put newly focused full screen window on top

2012-02-22 Thread Chauncellor
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make
Ubuntu better. We are sorry that we do not always have the capacity to
look at all reported bugs in a timely manner. There have been many
changes in Ubuntu since that time you reported the bug and your problem
may have been fixed with some of the updates. Compiz, in particular, is
in heavy development and this bug may have been fixed in the development
version of Ubuntu (12.04) if not on your current version. If you are
able, it would be of great help if you could confirm if the bug still
exists by testing a livecd (available at ubuntu.com). When you test it
and it is still an issue, kindly upload the updated logs by running
apport-collect and any other logs that are relevant for this
particular issue. If you are unable to test the development version,
please let us know if you are able to reproduce this issue on Ubuntu
11.10.

Thank you for your help and patience.

[Compiz] [Bug 939183] Re: Window decorator still using GTK2

2012-02-22 Thread Jonathan Meek
Oh, another way it stands out: hovering over the window buttons (close,
maximize, minimize) produces old GTK2 tooltips which stand out with the
vast majority of Ubuntu moved to GTK3

[Compiz] [Bug 811087] Re: visual effects reset to normal after restart

Checking on Ubuntu 12.04, compiz-dev does indeed depend on
libdecoration0-dev.

I'm marking this as fix released but feel free to reopen in case this
was said in error.

[Compiz] [Bug 615234] Re: Not possible to have shadow on windows with no decoration

2012-02-22 Thread Jeremy Kerr
Can still reproduce on the 12.04 alpha.

However, after some further digging, this looks specific to gnome-
terminal windows; as described above, I have the following settings:

 Decoration Windows: !(class=Gnome-terminal)
 Shadow Windows: all

- in order to remove the decoration (but not shadow) from gnome-terminal
windows. With these settings, gnome-terminal windows have no decoration
*and* no shadow, which is incorrect.

However - if I set the 'Decoration Windows' filter to that of another
app (eg, 'class=Ccsm'), then that application's windows are correctly
rendered (no decoration, but with shadow).

So it appears to be specific to some apps only?

** Description changed:

  Binary package hint: compiz

I have the following settings in CCSM:

Window Decorations -> General -> Decoration windows: "(any) &
!(class=Gnome-terminal)"
Window Decorations -> General -> Shadow windows: "any"

  (corresponding gconf settings listed below)

Gnome-terminal windows correctly have no window decorations. However,
they also do not have any shadow.

It looks like the shadow is only ever applied to decorated windows; this
makes it impossible to specify "shadow, but no decoration" on windows.

[Compiz] [Bug 819823] Re: interface shifting problem with unity and bluefish

2012-02-22 Thread Sam Spilsbury
This crash only happens when DISPLAY= is not set. As such, compiz would
fail to start anyways.

Assigning to alan_g in any case.

[Compiz] [Bug 774094] Re: slow performance after back from hibernation
