[Compiz] [Bug 886667] [NEW] boot moves desktop icons
You have been subscribed to a public bug: I arrange non-overlapping icons on my desktop for tasks that I am working on or files I want to read later. When I boot the next time the bottom 'row' of icons are moved upwards, on top of icons above them, making it difficult to work with them. This is a 'polish' bug - reducing the predictable usability of Unity. I can 'work around it' by moving files/folders off of the desktop but it isn't the way I find 'natural' (for me) to treat a "desktop" - I expect the things on my "desk" will remain where I left them the previous time I was working there ;-) James --- ApportVersion: 1.23-0ubuntu4 Architecture: i386 DistroRelease: Ubuntu 11.10 InstallationMedia: Ubuntu 11.04 "Natty Narwhal" - Release i386 (20110427.1) Package: nautilus 1:3.2.1-0ubuntu2 PackageArchitecture: i386 ProcEnviron: PATH=(custom, no user) LANG=en_US.UTF-8 SHELL=/bin/bash ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 3.0.0-12.20-generic 3.0.4 Tags: oneiric running-unity Uname: Linux 3.0.0-12-generic i686 UpgradeStatus: Upgraded to oneiric on 2011-10-14 (23 days ago) UserGroups: adm admin cdrom dialout lpadmin plugdev sambashare ** Affects: compiz (Ubuntu) Importance: Low Status: Confirmed ** Tags: apport-collected desktop icons nautilus-desktop-icons oneiric patch running-unity -- boot moves desktop icons https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/886667 You received this bug notification because you are a member of compiz packagers, which is subscribed to compiz in Ubuntu. ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~compiz Post to : compiz@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~compiz More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp

[Compiz] [Bug 800222] Re: Intermittent freeze - UI won't respond to clicks or keypresses
I'm *very* rarely getting a subset of this problem, where mouse clicks don't register. I use focus-follows-mouse, and when this happens, focus does not follow the mouse any longer. However, the keyboard works just fine. When I switch workspaces with the keyboard, the window that is under the mouse on the new workspace *does* get focus - it's just that moving the mouse around does not change focus. [Compiz] [Bug 914773] Re: [radeon] Compiz memory leak and blank screen unable to login when using radeon driver
Actually, the primary leak in _XEnq is going to happen to any OpenGL app, not just compiz. And the secondary leak in PrivateScreen::processEvents() is caused completely by the primary leak. So this is not a compiz-specific issue. It's just that compiz is usually the only OpenGL program that most people are running for long periods. ** No longer affects: compiz-core ** Changed in: compiz (Ubuntu) Status: Triaged => Invalid -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of compiz packagers, which is subscribed to compiz in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/914773 Title: [radeon] Compiz memory leak and blank screen unable to login when using radeon driver To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/indicator-multiload/+bug/914773/+subscriptions ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~compiz Post to : compiz@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~compiz More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
[Compiz] [Bug 914773] Re: [radeon] Compiz memory leak and blank screen unable to login when using radeon driver
** Description changed: + The issue *appears* to be that radeon's implementation of + glXWaitVideoSyncSGI (from libgl1-mesa-glx) hangs and leaks X events + while the screen is locked or asleep. + WORKAROUNDS: - Try each of these, individually and together: 1. Before leaving/locking the PC run ccsm, and in the OpenGL section disable "Sync To VBlank". 2. Before leaving/locking the PC, minimize all active windows. 3. Install fglrx driver from AMD/ATI. - ORIGINAL DESCRIPTION: There are two issues. Compiz has a memory leak so it expands to take up all memory plus swap (12 + 4 gig) Unity shows a blank screen and does not come up with a login prompt, only the mouse pointer is displayed. ctl+alt F1 works so you can get into a console and create the attached bug report. This was after killing vviewer and before restarting lightdm I was running KVM and vviewer as well and killed vviewer but still did not get get login screen Killed compiz which freed the memory still did not get login screen had to restart lightdm to get back into Unity and restart everything.
