I made this a duplicate of bug 980672. Only difference in mine and them
is I was using Nvidia-current and couldn't force version.

2012-04-13 Thread Paul
*** This bug is a duplicate of bug 980672 ***
https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/980672

I determined this compiz error was an actual error in the NVIDIA current
video drivers and not compiz at all.

Problem still existed after loading the latest packages mentioned above
in comment #5.

I deactivated the proprietory nvidia drivers and compix works without
error.

[Compiz] [Bug 969039] Re: HUD appears when tapping Alt+Left very quickly

2012-04-13 Thread Mark Campbell
Happens quite often for me when using Alt+Left and Alt+Right to change
directory in nautilus. nautilus changes directory appropriately, so Alt
is being pressed first; then the HUD appears. I don't see it with some
other key combinations involving Alt, like Alt+Shift or Alt+Tab, that
are probably handled prior to and not allowed to reach an application.
I'm on 12.04 and pulled updates earlier today.

[Compiz] [Bug 980895] Re: Xscreensaver 'interferometry' crashes session

2012-04-13 Thread Andy
Attached is a screenshot showing output of Top and system monitor. It
shows the initial memory spike. I then tried the "settings" button and
things got worse -- so bad, in fact, that top stopped refreshing, so I
don't have evidence of that.

I should also say that this is entirely reproducable for me in Unity 3D
but does not happen at all in Unity 2D.

[Compiz] [Bug 980895] [NEW] Xscreensaver 'interferometry' crashes session

2012-04-13 Thread Andy
Public bug reported:

It appears that pressing the 'preview' or 'settings' button on
xscreensaver "interferometry" causes a massive spike in memory usage
(>1Gb) followed by a massive system slowdown and eventually a complete
hang. (I assume because I'm out of memory).

[Compiz] [Bug 980679] [NEW] cube plugin "blinks" while changing viewport

2012-04-13 Thread kapetr
Public bug reported:

I have changed from wall to cube + rotate plugin.

When I change viewport then just before (at; after) end of animations
blinks (for a fraction of a second) the previous viewport.

It is not tragic but really not nice. If not fixed I will change back to
wall probably.

[Compiz] [Bug 919139] Re: window management, multi-monitor - In multi-monitor environment, windows should spread on the monitor in which they reside

2012-04-13 Thread walterav
As of today with all updates and compiz 0.9.7.6 the
spread/maximize/enlarge on a multimonitor setup with each screen having
a different resolution is still broken in the following way.

It will always enlarge/spread/maximize to the biggest screen although
the window position and the maximize action was initiated from the
smaller screen, in the condition that the window that is subjected to
enlarging has a "vertical" and or "horizontal" resolution that is larger
than the resolution of the smaller screen! Eventhough the orange opacity
grid (related to the maximize/enlarge/spread activity) lifts up on the
first smaller screen where it was initiated but the window it self
appears on the other second larger screen maximized.

2012-04-13 Thread Daniel van Vugt
The new fix is in compiz 0.9.7.6, which was released just hours ago for
Ubuntu 12.04. I hope it works for everyone.

[Compiz] [Bug 969039] Re: HUD appears when tapping Alt+Left very quickly

2012-04-13 Thread Daniel van Vugt
I still can't reproduce this on a fully updated precise machine.

Martin - In Firefox, can you get the HUD to appear _and_ Firefox to
register the Alt+Left/Right for backward/forward simultaneously? Or does
only one of them happen?

Thomi - Same question as above. Plus, could you please run 'xev | grep
-A2 Key' and attach a (complete) log of when the HUD appears
erroneously?

Thomas, the new compiz is in precise, you should be able to test from
there or did I overlook something?

[Compiz] [Bug 949659] Re: Compiz »Scale« plugin does not work in Precise Pangolin (12.04)

2012-04-13 Thread Daniel Hurtado
Is there any chance that this bug gets closed? It really affects the
usability because the Scale plugin is a great tool for window
management.
