[Compiz] [Bug 965577] Re: Window move between workspaces yields wron cursor position
You two are right...the bug remains. In my case, especially when moving between vertical workspaces. If these are my 4 workspaces: 1O 2O 3O 4O I find that moving 1O - 2O or 3O - 4O and viceversa is passable. Dragging in 1O-3O 2O-4O directions and viceversa I otherwise have some problems, or maybe given the titlebar height the glitches are just more noticeable. [Compiz] [Bug 993189] [NEW] Compiz crashes(Unity 3d) in Ubuntu 12.04 after installing proprietary Nvidia drivers
Public bug reported: I have installed the propriertary drivers for Nvidia via the additional drivers(jockey) tool. The opensource driver allowed me to use the system in Ubntu 3d. But performance was not very good. So I decided to give the proprietary driver a try, and installed it. Now when I boot into Ubuntu 3d, i get a blacvk screen, if i keep pressing some keyboard keys, finally apport runs reporting that compiz has crashed(apport reporting mesage, has no window decorations), but I'm unable to click buttons on that. Now I ran apport from CLI 1 and generated the bug report. After restart from the terminal, I'm able to enter Ubuntu using the Unity 2d interface, which seems to be quite stable. As a matter of fact I'm reporting from firefox from within that session. I had earlier reported a bug on the same issue, but with log files generated manually by me. https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/nvidia-graphics-drivers/+bug/993143 ProblemType: Bug DistroRelease: Ubuntu 12.04 Package: compiz 1:0.9.7.6-0ubuntu1 ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 3.2.0-24.37-generic-pae 3.2.14 Uname: Linux 3.2.0-24-generic-pae i686 NonfreeKernelModules: nvidia .proc.driver.nvidia.gpus.0: Error: [Errno 21] Is a directory: '/proc/driver/nvidia/gpus/0' .proc.driver.nvidia.registry: Binary: .proc.driver.nvidia.version: NVRM version: NVIDIA UNIX x86 Kernel Module 295.40 Thu Apr 5 21:28:09 PDT 2012 GCC version: gcc version 4.6.3 (Ubuntu/Linaro 4.6.3-1ubuntu5) ApportVersion: 2.0.1-0ubuntu7 Architecture: i386 CompizPlugins: [core, composite, opengl, compiztoolbox, decor, vpswitch, snap, mousepoll, resize, place, move, wall, grid, regex, imgpng, session, gnomecompat, animation, fade, unitymtgrabhandles, workarounds, scale, expo, ezoom, unityshell] CurrentDmesg: Date: Wed May 2 16:24:57 2012 DistUpgraded: Fresh install DistroCodename: precise DistroVariant: ubuntu DkmsStatus: nvidia-current, 295.40, 3.2.0-23-generic-pae, i686: installed nvidia-current, 295.40, 3.2.0-24-generic-pae, i686: installed GraphicsCard: NVIDIA Corporation C61 [GeForce 7025 / nForce 630a] [10de:03d6] (rev a2) (prog-if 00 [VGA controller]) Subsystem: ASUSTeK Computer Inc. [Compiz] [Bug 993230] [NEW] Maximising window 'glow' covers all workspaces in workspace switching view
You have been subscribed to a public bug: Unity 5.10.0-0ubuntu6 Compiz 1:0.9.7.6-0ubuntu1 Normally, dragging a window up to the panel will maximise the window and a glowing effect covers the workspace to communicate to the user that the window will cover the area that has the glowing effect. However, dragging a window to the panel while in the workspace switching view makes the glowing effect cover all of the workspaces instead of only the workspace that the window will be maximised on. Steps to reproduce: 1. Press Super+S to go to the workspace switching view 2. drag a non-maximized window to the top panel to maximize it. What happens: A orange glow covers the entire 4 workspaces What should actually happen: The orange glow only covers the workspace it is maximized on or maximizing windows in the workspace switching view should be disabled since it would not be possible to maximize an application in the 3rd and 4th workspace. [Compiz] [Bug 933776] Re: [regression] Super+W (Initiate Window Picker for All Windows) shows only windows from curent workspace
When was left click on icon changed to current output only? In my 11.10 this worked fine until I upgraded to 12.04. In my opinion such a modification would be a mistake. As I said earlier I think single output switching is at best the second option for switching between application windows. I for one NEVER want this behaviour. [Compiz] [Bug 974242] Re: Compiz edge detection code is moving windows against my will
I just wanted to confirm that this is happening on both by Nvidia TwinView desktop and my Intel 945GM laptop. Both of these systems are ubuntu 12.04 - amd64. Problematic behavior disappears after disabling the place plugin within compiz. After disabling this plugin remember that holding the alt key will allow you to move a window even if you can't grab the bar along the top. The worst impact of this bug for me is windows getting stuck to the top and bottom of the screen. After a window has touched either the bottom or top of the screen it will permanently be stuck there. I can drag the window away from the edge but the moment I release the mouse button the window will return to the edge. Moving a window to the left or right causes the mouse cursor to no longer match up with the windowThis causes a certain degree of desktop flipping and window management havoc. I use a 4x1 (4 columns x 1 row) workspace layout so moving windows off the workspace left or right is different than moving them up or down. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of compiz packagers, which is subscribed to compiz in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/974242 Title: Compiz edge detection code is moving windows against my will To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/compiz/+bug/974242/+subscriptions ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~compiz Post to : compiz@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~compiz More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp

[Compiz] [Bug 878820] Re: Window Management, Keyboard shortcut - The grid keybindings are behaving inconsistently
I really hope this gets fixed. In many cases a 50/50 split is not the way to go. Half of the screen may be to little space for e.g. a browser window, but is wasted space for e.g. a terminal window. I use a 66/33 split way more often. While I would prefer separated shortcuts for 50/50 and 66/33 (or even something like Divvy), cycling is better than only having 50/50 BY FAR. I upgraded from 10.04 to 12.04 yesterday, stumbled upon this bug/feature, and then restored 10.04 backups. Going back to resizing windows with the mouse instead of keyboard shortcuts is a step I don't want to take, it's slower by magnitudes. Please restore this functionality, pretty please with sugar on top. What fixes/workarounds/alternatives are there at the moment? Compiling upstream grid from source? I tried and failed. [Compiz] [Bug 803943] Re: compiz consuming a lot of cpu
Same problem here. Compiz don't use a lot of cpu idle (2% constantly), but the smallest action take a LOT of cpu. A simple tab in chrome whith a notification animation takes 50% of the cpu (because of compiz), a simple tab changing, a simple scroll, a simple dash open... In Ubuntu 11.10, compiz used 8 to 15% idle (so it's a lot better now), but a simple action didn't take such cpu consumption. Now my fans are crazy when I do a simple google search. It's not a medium importance bug, it's a HUGE problem. [Compiz] [Bug 946388] Re: Some apps (like Remmina) can't full-screen under Compiz (or Unity)
The package in precise-proposed does NOT work for me. Flash/firefox doesn't always shows the gnome-panel in fullscreen mode, and VLC starts out working fine, but the panel shows up after ~15 seconds. I was trying to submit an apport report as well, but I'm not sure if that succeeded. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of compiz packagers, which is subscribed to compiz in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/946388 Title: Some apps (like Remmina) can't full-screen under Compiz (or Unity) To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/compiz-core/+bug/946388/+subscriptions ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~compiz Post to : compiz@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~compiz More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp

[Compiz] [Bug 983277] Re: vdpau HW decode not working with session types 'ubuntu' and 'gnome-classic'
Found a partial workaround. Disable 'sync to vbank' in both ccsm (under OpenGL)and Nvidia Xserver Settings (under Xserver Xvideo Settings) and vdpau works again for mplayer2 (haven't tested with mplayer) This however doesn't work for xbmc(cpu usage still at ~60% with vdpau under Unity 3D and it drops to ~6% in Gnome Shell) Also, disabling 'sync to vbank' has the side effect of introducing tearing when rotating the Compiz cube. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of compiz packagers, which is subscribed to compiz in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/983277 Title: vdpau HW decode not working with session types 'ubuntu' and 'gnome- classic' To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/compiz/+bug/983277/+subscriptions ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~compiz Post to : compiz@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~compiz More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
