[Compiz] [Bug 933776] Re: [regression] "Initiate Window Picker for All Windows" does not show all windows. It shows only windows from curent workspace.

2012-05-11 Thread James Heany
Can we expect this to be fixed through regular updates?

Another issue I have which I'm not sure is part of this bug or not. The
expo feature and scale faeture of assigning a window corner (or top,
bottom, sides) to activate window picker (scale) and worksapce picker
(expo) stop working after a reboot. The window picker feature every
single time, the workspace picker occasionally. The settingsa are not
changed in compiz, but the only way to get them working again is to
change the setting to off and then assign it back again. It will then
work for as long as logged in. Is this attributed to this bug, or
should a different bug report be filed?

[Compiz] [Bug 998030] Re: [system] window does not remember its size

2012-05-11 Thread Robert Roth
Thank you for the details you have provided. These two issues are two
unrelated ones, and they will be easier to track if they have their
separate bug reports. For example the first issue has already been
reported in bug #944973, you can track that issue and make comments
there. Let's keep this ticket for the GIMP issue, as it has been noticed
by other users too (http://askubuntu.com/questions/47125/gimp-windows-
placement-when-opened-in-unity), but it has not been reported yet. I am
modifying the description of this ticket accordingly.

** Changed in: ubuntu
   Status: Incomplete => Confirmed

** Description changed:

- the save dialog in many program (I think it is a system provided dialog)
- is too high, I cannot see the save button unless I maximize the dialog.
-
- So I try to drag the dialog box smaller, and then I see the buttons.
- However, the next time I call out the dialog box, it is still very
- large, i.e. it does not remember the size I set it to be.
-
- Secondly, the GIMP (2.6) program does not remember window position, even
- if I click the "save window position" button in its preference dialog
- box. I also feel it is a system-wide problem, not gimp's.
+ The GIMP (2.6) program does not remember window position, even if I
+ click the "save window position" button in its preference dialog box.

[Compiz] [Bug 987156] Re: alt-backtick flickers between windows

2012-05-11 Thread Sparhawk
Unlike comment #3, I see this differently on my system. No matter how fast I
press alt-`, the switcher *always* appears. OTOH, I can press alt-tab slightly
more slowly than this (but still quick-ish), and prevent the switcher from
appearing.

[Compiz] [Bug 996343] Re: Game performance is choppier with compiz enabled (not unity)

2012-05-11 Thread Chauncellor
** Description changed:

When compiz is enabled, all of my games have a slight jag to them,
skipping a few frames every second. This choppiness can range from
merely annoying to headache-inducing, depending on the game. This is not
Unity-specific as running a unity-less compiz session still presents the
issue. Furthermore, this is not an Nvidia binary issue as the nouveau
driver makes no difference. Disabling vsync or manually setting my
refresh rate makes the issue worse. Also, desktop animations appear to
be smooth with no problems (though they may just be too short to really
  notice).

Game performance is butter-smooth when I use Ubuntu 2D. Not a hiccup to
  be had.

For an example of the choppiness, please see the video. Watch the
clouds. Since the video was recorded at only 15 fps, the choppiness is
slightly higher than what I actually experience.

https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/compiz/+bug/996343/+attachment/3136325/+files/bug.ogv

- While this game and many others (including almost all windows games
- played through wine) are this choppy, there are a certain very few games
- which retain butter-smooth play. They are rare, however.

[Compiz] [Bug 787814] Re: Compiz Opacify Not Working After Upgrade to 11.04

2012-05-11 Thread Alessandro Ceschini
Hi

I'm experiencing the same problem as The Doctor (#5), but my OS is
12.04. Opacify isn't turned on by default even though Compiz says so,
and even when I turn it on manually, opacification doesn't apply to
windows opened after I turned opacification on. Crappy.

[Compiz] [Bug 985809] Re: Compiz scale/exposé flicker on first activation

2012-05-11 Thread Frederik Elwert
The issue is still there. But if I am not mistaken, it’s behaviour has
changed a bit: It does not appear on the initial viewport, but only
after you switch to another viewport and trigger scale there.

I also experienced this on a second machine with an Nvidia graphics
card, so it seems not to be driver specific.

[Compiz] [Bug 998013] [NEW] "Intelligent Edges" stopped working

2012-05-11 Thread Kalsan
Public bug reported:

I've set Compiz via CCSM so that it would show desktop when I place the mouse
in the bottom left corner and that it scales the windows when I place it in the
right bottom corner. Also, I use Enhanced Zoom Desktop (Ctrl+wheel).
A few days ago, the edges stopped working, zoom is still working all right. I
have no proprietary drivers on the system, and none are available. The edges
are still configured in CCSM, but the settings have no effect.
