[Compiz] [Bug 1038785] [NEW] Inconsistent behaviour calling windows focus on another workspace
You have been subscribed to a public bug: Ubuntu 12.04.1 LTS; Compiz: 1:0.9.7.8-0ubuntu1.4; Empathy: 3.4.2.3-0ubuntu1 Clicking on an open App on the launcher, focus should be gained on the app, and if the app is on another workspace, workspace should switch accordingly. What happens instead is that, at random, the app window is moved to the current workspace, or another, at random positions, sometimes off-screen (check screenshot). I can reproduce it this way: - Switch to a second workspace. - Open Empathy. - Super+ctrl+arrow to put the window to the right - Switch to the first workspace - Click on the Empathy icon - Repeat if works ok. I guess the problem is related to the way Compiz's Grid plugin resizes the Empathy window; the workspace seems to lose track of its position. Tell me if you need something more. Thanks! ** Affects: compiz (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: bot-comment -- Inconsistent behaviour calling windows focus on another workspace https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1038785 You received this bug notification because you are a member of compiz packagers, which is subscribed to compiz in Ubuntu. ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~compiz Post to : compiz@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~compiz More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp

[Compiz] [Bug 1038677] Re: All Edge bindings are lost on a restart if there is an actual or 'percieved' conflict with edge flip binding
Un-duping because, at least here, on 12.04 an edge binding conflict, real or not, does not cause all user set edge bindings to fail on a restart. So this seems specific to 12.10 (at least here), & is not a 'sometimes' thing. [Compiz] [Bug 964788] Re: bad gaming performance when running compiz (nvida gt-240)
This bug is not a duplicate of bug 988079. It appears with compiz even if the unity plugin is deactivated. The only workaround is to temporary unredirect fullscreen windows when starting a game. (thank you daniel for the hint) I want to add that the same problem appears even if I don't start the game in fullscreen mod. I get a ~20% framedrop but, what is much worse for the gaming experience, the framerate is very uneven. Also tearinglike artifact appears and vsync doesn't effect it. As I mentioned before, this bug is a regression since it appeared with Ubuntu 12.04 and is still present in 12.10. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of compiz packagers, which is subscribed to compiz in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/964788 Title: bad gaming performance when running compiz (nvida gt-240) To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/compiz/+bug/964788/+subscriptions ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~compiz Post to : compiz@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~compiz More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
[Compiz] [Bug 964788] Re: bad gaming performance when running compiz (nvida gt-240)
Tearing should be fully fixed with bug 901097, when compiz 0.9.8.0 is released. ** Also affects: compiz Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of compiz packagers, which is subscribed to compiz in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/964788 Title: bad gaming performance when running compiz (nvida gt-240) To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/compiz/+bug/964788/+subscriptions ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~compiz Post to : compiz@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~compiz More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
[Compiz] [Bug 964788] Re: bad gaming performance when running compiz (nvida gt-240)
This bug is not a duplicate of bug 988079. This is a compiz bug since it appears with compiz even if the unity plugin is deactivated. With Unity2D now dropped in 12.10, the only workaround is to temporary unredirect fullscreen windows when starting a game. (thank you Daniel for the hint) I want to add, that I'm having these performance issues even if I don't start the game in fullscreen. There is a framedrop of around 20% but the gaming experience is actually much worse because of the tearing artifacts (no effect if VSync is activated) and also the framerate being very uneven. [Compiz] [Bug 1029085] Re: Stuttering in games with high fps and Nvidia
namelezz, Sorry, I can't see where you mention Gnome Classic at all. But you can confirm that the same problem exists in Gnome Classic (compiz without unity)? Could you please log in to Gnome Classic, retest, and run "pidof compiz" to verify compiz is running? -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of compiz packagers, which is subscribed to compiz in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1029085 Title: Stuttering in games with high fps and Nvidia To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/compiz/+bug/1029085/+subscriptions ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~compiz Post to : compiz@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~compiz More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
