[Compiz] [Bug 1054997] [NEW] Popup windows believe their in the wrong workspace when moved.
You have been subscribed to a public bug: If there is a program running and it pop's up another winows (maybe a download status bar). If this new windows is right clicked on and moved to another workspace it's still thinks it's in the previous workspace. This causes further problems as if you can't put the popup in the background, when selecting the primary windows it redirects you to the workspace with the popup, not the actual window you selected. This popup does not appear in the Workspace viewer. [Compiz] [Bug 950160] Re: Unity blocks other programs from binding globally to Super+* or Alt+* (* = any key)
I've solved this problem by removing this line from/etc/xdg/autostart /gnome-settings-daemon.desktop X-GNOME-Autostart-Phase=Initialization In my limited testing, I've seen no negative consequences. I'll run it for a few more days and let people know. If anyone has a 11.10 installation, please paste the output of 'ps axf'. The most important bit is which started first, compiz or gnome- settings-daemon. It seames whichever starts later gets to grab the event. Note this does not fix Super+* in the general case, but from testing g-s-d any application that starts later should have priority and be able to successfully grab the event. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of compiz packagers, which is subscribed to compiz in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/950160 Title: Unity blocks other programs from binding globally to Super+* or Alt+* (* = any key) To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/gnome-settings-daemon/+bug/950160/+subscriptions ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~compiz Post to : compiz@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~compiz More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp

[Compiz] [Bug 1029085] Re: Stuttering in games with high fps and Nvidia
All, Please remember, if you're using Ubuntu 12.10 or later, and have Compiz 0.9.8.2 or later then the recommended way to get optimal graphics performance in fullscreen games is: CCSM > Composite > Unredirect Fullscreen Windows = ON. But make sure you have compiz 0.9.8.2 or later. Otherwise it will not work very reliably and could cause serious problems. Unredirect mode is going to improve dramatically again in 0.9.8.4. Later when it is considered stable and reliable, those new features will be backported to compiz 0.9.7 for precise. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of compiz packagers, which is subscribed to compiz in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1029085 Title: Stuttering in games with high fps and Nvidia To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/compiz/+bug/1029085/+subscriptions ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~compiz Post to : compiz@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~compiz More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp

I was able to successfully reproduce this. It's an issue that pops up only when the screen resolution is high (above 1440:900, it's very obvious with my 1920:1080) and the dash is set to fullscreen. [Compiz] [Bug 1055527] [NEW] Compiz crashes in TfpTexture::bindTexImage
Public bug reported: I can crash Compiz consistently in newest Quantal. It crashes by itself a few times a day. Respawning does not work, so even though apport gathers the crash info, I can't send it because the browser window is not shown and (most of the time) keypresses are not delivered to windows. I have created backtrace of the crash manually, it is attached. The actual crash happens somewhere inside NVidia's OpenGL driver. I'd like to again echo namelezz on the refresh rate settings. I think the most annoying is the slight stuttering that can occur at what should be very playable framerates. Its not a bug. If the schemas fail to recompile then this crash will occurr. There's not much we can do about it because its nobody's fault. A file is corrupted on the user's system effectively.
