2013-02-19 Thread Jonathan Allard

I think the fixed version of https://patchwork.kernel.org/patch/2159201/
will be interesting to test for this case.

[Compiz] [Bug 1130203] [NEW] Some applications do not snapp off correctly (wrong cursor position) from maximized state

2013-02-19 Thread Esokrates
Public bug reported:

If you snap off some applications from maximized state the cursor gets
positioned wrong. This is always reproduceable with Libreoffice.
If Qtcreator is in maximized state when launched the same problems shows as for
libreoffice (cursor wrong, gets placed inside the windows instead of the
titlebar).
Some other applications such as nautilus always position the cursor as desired.
This can be seen in the following screencast:

[Compiz] [Bug 1130388] [NEW] Compiz/xfce4-panel will only display windows from one application at a time.

2013-02-19 Thread Alistair Buxton
Public bug reported:

Using compiz with xfce4-panel.

I can only unminimize windows from a single application. For example, I
minimize all windows. Now I can unmaximize an unlimted number of gnome-
terminal windows, but if I want to unminimize synaptic, I must minimize
all gnome-terminal windows first. I can then unminimize as many synaptic
windows as I want, but no others until I minimize all synaptic windows.
See video if this isn't clear:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4byH8Pxp0oE

Any further attempts to unminimize windows are ignored by compiz. You
can tell they are ignored because xfce4-panel begins to flash the
taskbar items to notify the user that the window wants to do something
but the window manager isn't allowing it.

If I open new windows (by running the program again) the taskbar items
will raise the window to the front as long as it has not been previously
minimized

~/.xsession-errors has this warning, which may or may not be related:

[Compiz] [Bug 1130412] [NEW] windows don't raise on focus unless title bar is clicked.

2013-02-19 Thread Nicholas J. Alonge
Public bug reported:

Ever since updating today on 13.04 Windows don't raise when they are
focused unless you click on the titlebar. This was working yesterday. Do
demonstrate the problem I recorded a video.

Expected Behavior: Focus and raise a window by clicking anywhere in the window
What actually Happens? Window focuses, but does not raise above others unless
title bar is clicked.

[Compiz] [Bug 1130412] Re: windows don't raise on focus unless title bar is clicked.

2013-02-19 Thread Nicholas J. Alonge
OK, so I should have done more investigation before reporing the bug :D

Turns out the compiz setting raise on click was unchecked in CCSM.

Is that setting change intended for 13.04? I personally think Raise on
click should be left on by default as that's the behavior most users
would expect.

** Summary changed:

- windows don't raise on focus unless title bar is clicked.
+ compiz setting raise on click disabled after latest updates, should be
enabled by default
