[Compiz] [Bug 964270] [NEW] Ubuntu forgets keyboard shortcuts after a restart

2013-04-03 Thread Launchpad Bug Tracker
You have been subscribed to a public bug:

NOTE: This bug is for Ubuntu 12.04 (precise) only. If you experience
something similar on 12.10 (quantal) or later then please refer to bug

I am new to Ubuntu but willing to help on debugging if it is simple and
not technical.

[Compiz] [Bug 1067951] Re: Firefox randomly loses window decoration in Gnome Classic (Compiz)

2013-04-03 Thread Timothée Manaud
I'm able to reproduce this problem with the following steps:
- start FF
- minimize FF
- open a link from another software (Purple or Thunderbird)
- maximize FF from the task bar, the decorator is missing.

Workaround:
- select FF with the missing decorator, ALT+SPACE then Minimize, then ALT+TAB
to return

May I provide anything else (logs) to help?

[Compiz] [Bug 627195] Re: Window management - Apps raised from indicators sometimes dont have the focus

2013-04-03 Thread Treviño
** Description changed:

  Ubuntu 11.10 beta
  compiz 1:0.9.5.94+bzr2803-0ubuntu5
  unity 4.16.0-0ubuntu1

  1. open banshee, start a song in it and minimize
  2. open another application lets say gnome-terminal
  3. click on the sound menu and select banshee

  What happens
banshee icon in the launcher wiggles and banshee main window is not shown

  What should happen
banshee main window should come to focus

This is a long standing bug which Ted Gould thinks should be fixed at
  window manager's level.

  Some other observations=
  The problem wont happen
  1. if every other app is minimized or
  2. Banshee is the only opened app or
  3. after opening gnome-terminal, banshee window is closed so that it hides to
the SoundMenu and opened again

  =Comment from Ted Gould=
om26er tedg, Hi! any thoughts on the long standing bug 627195 ? Its been
there before unity so I guess we can conclude unity not to be responsible

tedg om26er, My thought is that window managers should $%#$ get
fixed... though I haven't convinced smspillaz of it yet.

  =The good rule=
- Indicator-session should present the players windows by passing to them the
timestamp of the menu item activation event.
- Unfortunately this is not trival as it sounds, since it needs a change to the
MPRIS dbus specification.
+ Indicators should present the application windows by passing to them the
timestamp of the menu item activation event.
+ Unfortunately for indicator-sound, this is not trival as it sounds, since it
needs a change to the MPRIS dbus specification.
  See comment https://bugs.launchpad.net/ayatana-design/+bug/627195/comments/26
for more informations.

Window managers will obey to it.

[Compiz] [Bug 763148] Re: Adding/Removing an external monitor causes open windows to move to another workspace

2013-04-03 Thread Ian Hutchinson
Thanks fo Daniel van Vugt for recurrent attention to this bug. But I
presume his repeated changes to milestone mean that no one is paying
the slightest attention to actually fixing it. Is there a realistic
expectation that it will ever be fixed?

[Compiz] [Bug 1164164] [NEW] Compiz crashes when inserting USB stick

2013-04-03 Thread Rainer Rohde
Public bug reported:

Compiz crashes -- albeit briefly -- when inserting a USB stick or other
USB device (Nexus 4, Nexus 7).

The screen seems to be loosing all of the window manager, but comes
right back.

This seems to be a regression, as this didn't happen previously...

[Compiz] [Bug 763148] Re: Adding/Removing an external monitor causes open windows to move to another workspace

2013-04-03 Thread Chauncellor
Ian Hutchinson: I'm not part of the team but I can say that there is an
extremely small handful of people working on the compiz codebase - some
of these people are also pulling double-duty on Mir. Unless a hero pulls
off a set of patches to help the stack I'm afraid we're going to have to
trust that they will prioritize the long bug list well enough to deal
with the issues at the best time they can.

Hope that helps, and were I better at C++ I'd dive in myself.
