[Compiz] [Bug 1315002] [NEW] If you trigger mouse binding for Window Scale when already scaled, it will crash

2016-07-08 Thread Launchpad Bug Tracker
You have been subscribed to a public bug:

I am using Ubuntu 14.04 LTS with the Unity UI.

I have bound the Compiz Scale plugin to the TopLeft corner, to Super+W
and to the mouse10 mouse button.

Reproduction:
- Initiate the scale with the TopLeft corner or with Super+W
- While in the scaled view, trigger the mouse10 mouse button

BUG: As a result, the scale view will never go back to the normal view.
It is now stuck to the scale view. Clicking on a window or on an empty
space does not return the UI to the normal state.

You need to reset the UI with "unity --replace" to be able to use the
system.

Thanks
Marco Bettiolo

[Compiz] [Bug 1598770] Re: Unity in low-graphics mode has animations and unneded redraws

2016-07-08 Thread TreviƱo
** Description changed:

+ [Impact]
+
When unity is in Low graphics mode (because of software rendering) there
are still window animations and fade effects which we should get rid of.
+
+
+ [Test case]
+
+ This should apply naturally to a (virtual-)machine with no hardware
+ acceleration or There are multiple ways to force low-gfx mode:
+
+ 1) Add an upstart job such as:
+
+ cat << EOF > ~/.config/upstart/lowgfx.conf
+ start on starting unity7
+
+ pre-start script
+ #initctl set-env --global UNITY_LOW_GFX_MODE=1
+ initctl set-env --global LIBGL_ALWAYS_SOFTWARE=1
+ end script
+ EOF
+
+
+ 2) Run unity with:
+COMPIZ_CONFIG_PROFILE=ubuntu-lowgfx
+
+ On login unity should use opaque views (dash, switcher, launcher,
+ shortcut-dialogs) with no fading and reduced effects. Windows should
+ also use smaller shadows.
+
+
+ [Regression potential]
+
+ Some settings from unity-control-center couldn't be applied to normal
+ profile. Low graphics mode might be used as normal one.
