[Compiz] [Bug 754508] Re: Modal dialogs don't appear on the same workspace/monitor as their parent window

2012-09-25 Thread Greg Auger
Dear Daniel, I was just wondering why you have changed the title/summary
to include workspaces? As far as I can tell, nobody has commented on
this bug reporting an issue with dialogs appearing on the wrong
workspace.

[Compiz] [Bug 878820] Re: Window Management, Keyboard shortcut - The grid keybindings are behaving inconsistently

2012-03-19 Thread Greg Auger
If (as seems likely) this won't be fixed for 12.04, I think it is
important that the keybindings used in 11.10 continue to work.

For example, whilst I support the addition of Super+Left and Super+Right
for people without a numberpad, it is important that Ctrl+Alt+Numpad4
and Ctrl+Alt+Numpad6 continue to work.

It doesn't make sense to ask people to relearn keyboard shortcuts for
the 12.04 release, especially if things are going to change again in a
future release.

[Compiz] [Bug 861088] Re: When switching workspaces with workspace switcher previous Ws contents are momentarily displayed

2011-10-13 Thread Greg Auger
The bug in this question (relating to the workspace switcher) is fixed
with the version of compiz in natty-proposed.

I suggest that people having a similar problem with the desktop cube
report a seperate bug.

[Compiz] [Bug 724491] Re: select area to grab functionality broken because it includes the 'area shadow'

2011-03-28 Thread Greg Auger
Sebastien, I don't think this is a duplicate of that bug.

(The root causes may be similar though, but I don't know.)

I think this is only a problem when using compiz (I didn't get the
problem under metacity).

[Compiz] [Bug 675307] Re: compiz can't load plugins and won't run in VirtualBox

2010-11-30 Thread Greg Auger
Ubuntu reports the VirtualBox drivers as enabled on my Natty
Virtualbox machine. With the old compiz in Maverick this was enough to
get Compiz running with effects.

See attached screenshot.

[Compiz] [Bug 675307] Re: compiz can't load plugins and won't run in VirtualBox

2010-11-30 Thread Greg Auger
Having said that, the output when installing VB Guest Additions wasn't
entirely positive.

Verifying archive integrity... All good.
Uncompressing VirtualBox 3.2.8 Guest Additions for Linux
VirtualBox Guest Additions installer
Removing installed version 3.2.8 of VirtualBox Guest Additions...
Building the VirtualBox Guest Additions kernel modules
Building the main Guest Additions moduleRunning global cleanup code from study
base classes.
 ...done.
Building the shared folder support module ...fail!
(Look at /var/log/vboxadd-install.log to find out what went wrong)
Installing the Window System drivers
Warning: unknown version of the X Window System installed. Not installing
X Window System drivers.
Installing graphics libraries and desktop services components ...done.

[Compiz] [Bug 675307] Re: compiz can't load plugins and won't run in VirtualBox

2010-11-25 Thread Greg Auger
This is certainly a regression since Maverick, I guess the question is whether
the problem is with one of
a) Compiz - e.g. a regression in 0.9 that means it no longer supports
VirtualBox hardware acceleration
b) VirtualBox's Guest Additions - e.g. the drivers that provide 3D acceleration
aren't working in Natty.

** Summary changed:

- compiz can't load plugins and won't run
+ compiz can't load plugins and won't run in VirtualBox

** Also affects: virtualbox-ose (Ubuntu)
   Importance: Undecided
   Status: New
