[Compiz] [Bug 706918] Re: compiz crashed with SIGSEGV in RegexExp::evaluate()

2015-09-16 Thread Hugo Osvaldo Barrera
@willcooke:

 - This *is* a persistent bug.
 - errors.ubutnu.com does not exist
 - this error is not ubuntu-specific. What happens in this case?

Reproduction instructions are quite clearly described on this ticket.

[Compiz] [Bug 934189] Re: desktop focus interferes with conky

2013-04-10 Thread Hugo Osvaldo Barrera
*All* global hotkeys break, including xbindkeys', so I'm not sure if this is
100% a compiz bug.
This issues does, however, completely break desktops that use compiz as a
standalone WM.

[Compiz] [Bug 1102210] Re: Expo hotkey does not work

2013-02-24 Thread Hugo Osvaldo Barrera
Sorry for the delay replaying.
This seems to be working again in more recent builds.
I'd mark the bug as fixed, but I'm not sure exactly what status to choose.

Sorry for the noise.

The new summary is wrong, it does not occur with any workspace switcher,
only with expo. Using desktop wall does not reproduce the issue.

[Compiz] [Bug 1082001] Re: Grid/Expo: Via keyboard-shortcut resized Grid windows confuse Expo and follow the user from workspace to workspace

2013-01-28 Thread Hugo Osvaldo Barrera
The original (older) issue describes the issue (bug 1058950)better IMHO:

"""
Place a window in a corner using the GRID plugin (ie: bottom-left).
Switch to any other workspace using EXPO.
The window is visible on any other workspace, even though it shouldn't be.

This issue does NOT reproduce if the window is placed on a side (ie: right)
instead of a corner.
"""

It's irrelevant if you use keyboard or mouse to place the window, the
only thing that's relevant is the usage of the GRID plugin.

The following also reproduces the same issue for me:

Enable "scale" plugin.
Press the "initiate window picker" hotkey (shift+alt+up by default).
Press esc
The "Magnifier" is activated, even though it's hotkeys are totally unrelated.

Can you just hold alt and drag the window down in order to see the

[Compiz] [Bug 706918] Re: compiz crashed with SIGSEGV in RegexExp::evaluate()

I had this bug on ArchLinux and Fedora with compiz 0.9.4 on the same PC.
Upgrading to compiz 0.9.5 (development release) fixed this issue, can
someone verify this is also the case on ubuntu?

[Compiz] [Bug 706918] Re: compiz crashed with SIGSEGV in RegexExp::evaluate()

2011-05-28 Thread Hugo Osvaldo Barrera
I forgot to say; the crashes are not only when alt-tabbing, but also
when opening menus, if I open File, then Edit, and go back and fourth a
couple of times, I get the same crash. Disabling regex matching fixes
BOTH crashes, so I've always considered them the same one.

[Compiz] [Bug 706918] Re: compiz crashed with SIGSEGV in RegexExp::evaluate()

2011-05-28 Thread Hugo Osvaldo Barrera
I'm including an attachment generated with compiz 0.9.4, though not on
Ubuntu (my GF's laptop is the one with ubuntu, and she's on a long trip
so I won't have access to it for some time).

I hope this helps, I've generated it following the instructions at
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Backtrace.

In any case, just get back to me.
The EXACT same compiz config does not crash on a different PC with the same
software configuration (os, compiz version, etc). That one has intel video,
and this one nvidia, that's the only difference I can think of.

Cheers!

[Compiz] [Bug 706918] Re: compiz crashed with SIGSEGV in RegexExp::evaluate()

2011-05-14 Thread Hugo Osvaldo Barrera
The same issue ocurrs on Fedora 15, and ArchLinux with compiz 0.9.4, so this is
an upstream compiz bug.
On Arch, the issue ocurrs whenever a tooltip is displayed, or a menu is opened.
Disabling regex matching prevents these crashes.

[Compiz] [Bug 136336] Re: Compiz shift-switcher should not scale icons for minimized windows

2010-04-26 Thread Hugo Osvaldo Barrera
What about adding a hook to the minimize event on windows, and grab a
screenshot of it. You can later use that screenshot - you won't get a
live preview, but it's waaay better than just the icon. AND windows
does the same thing.

A simple hashmap could store the thumbnails in memory by windowID or
something alike.
