I don't have issue with e-Zoom features in Compiz since long. Currently on Ubuntu 17.04: DISTRIB_ID=Ubuntu DISTRIB_RELEASE=17.04 DISTRIB_CODENAME=zesty DISTRIB_DESCRIPTION="Ubuntu 17.04" I use and need this Compiz e-Zoom every moment using Ubuntu and really hope it will continue to be available in future versions. There is no good alternative as screen magnification for visually impaired. Compiz does it very smoothly with the best handling. All alternatives, including Gnome accessibility tools are way inferior and often backward. I do *need* this tool everyday because I am visually impaired. This is the most usefull tool/feature from compiz and all it was done since is disable it? I have no pleasant or soft wording to tell you how bad I feel about that. Same here with the Ubuntu standard desktop. Compiz crash after login, may be related to using the eZoom. Despite crash, I still have 3D hw accel, zoom and window decorations. Please comment on importance → Low. This bug should be high or critical as a usability issue. It will prevent any visually impaired who depend on ezoom every moment looking at the screen, not upgrading tu Ubuntu 11.04 until it is fixed. Not beying able to zoom in/out unless moving the mouse pointer out of the wndows or over decoration. Public bug reported: Binary package hint: compiz Since last week update, while in enhanced zoom, the mouse cursor position laag several pixels behind window displacements. Unless setting mouse polling less than 5 (default to 20). Actually I have already re/enabled mouse wheel events for zoom control in compiz using CCSM but, the events are not recieved by compiz when I select/click a window area. I have to be hover some window decoration area for compiz to receive the wheel super+wheel events, or must step some window switcher before. In all other cases, it no longer work despite being enabled in compiz. t now in compiz zoom, unless having mouse tracking set to 1, there is a huge lag when moving window, having the window moving smoothly and the zoomed mouse pointer lagging behind. It is a real usability issue especially as I depend on zoom-in/out with super+button4/button5 (aka mouse wheel) as a visually impaired. I really wonder why Unity preval use of super.
