[Compiz] [Bug 1305586] Re: Lock screen is unusable when some windows have a keyboard/mouse grab
I confirm what Simon Buchan wrote in his comment. - I start VirtualBox with Ubuntu 12.04.4 LTS as guest, fullscreen - Wait for Unity lockscreen (timeout set to 1 minute for testing) - Keyboard input does not seem to respond, mouse works fine. Now there is other workaround to get input not going to the VM but to lockscreen text box. I just need to switch off fullscreen for the VM with keyboard shortcut Host + F (by default Right Ctrl + F) and then open indicators and finally switch to the lockscreen password text box. I have only one monitor. @Simon this particular problem might be resolved with the Unity SRU update. [Compiz] [Bug 1305586] Re: Lock screen is unusable when some windows have a keyboard/mouse grab
I'm marking it as verification-done because there are no more problems with unusable lockscreen. However there are some things which don't work entirely as expected. I've tested three programs VMware, VirtualBox and gksudo window summoned by gdebi. In case of VirtualBox everything worked, the screen turned off and it was locked and I had no problems unlocking it. In case of VMware and gksudo the screen turned off but it didn't lock until I released the keyboard/mouse grab in case of VMware, dismissed the window in case of gksudo. Until I released the keyboard/mouse grab I saw the desktop. [Compiz] [Bug 1087090] Re: [raring][regression] Window management - Maximized windows aren't fullscreen in the workspace switcher
This bug is fixed in Utopic but when I tried how it works by running the newest iso image in live mode I discovered a new problem. [Compiz] [Bug 682788] Re: Improve Unity Global Menu
@Ryan Koesters: I've build today Unity and unity-control-center with your patches on Ubuntu 14.04 both worked without problems. The patch provided by Ryan Koesters works when applied to Unity in 13.10. I've build Unity and then I had a new GSettings option. When I checked that menubar-always-visible the global menu became visible all the time for all programs. [Compiz] [Bug 1032276] Re: [nvidia] Graphics freeze when I close or minimize a window
I too have this bug and I can confirm that it's related to Compiz drawing the desktop (Nautilus show desktop disabled). I have it in 13.04 and 13.10 running in VirtualBox and also booting the ISO image with Grub entry created by grml-rescueboot. It happens with NVIDIA drivers (tested on 13.04) and Nouveau, LLVMpipe and VirtualBox drivers (tested on 13.10). The easiest way to reproduce this bug is to open terminal (it must be the only visible window). Then type nautilus -q which will temporarily kill Nautilus (desktop will be rendered with Compiz). The last step minimize or close terminal window. This results in animation hang and entire desktop hang. Unity doesn't respond on keys being pressed (Super, Alt (Tap), Alt + F2 or F10). When the desktop finally returns to normal I see all those actions that I triggered before (Dash opening, HUD opening and so on). -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of compiz packagers, which is subscribed to compiz in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1032276 Title: [nvidia] Graphics freeze when I close or minimize a window To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/compiz/+bug/1032276/+subscriptions ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~compiz Post to : compiz@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~compiz More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
