[Compiz] [Bug 1170338] [NEW] Launcher and systems indicator icons do not appear on VMs with raring desktop installations
Public bug reported: On VMs, both VBOX and kvm with libvirt, compiz crashes with SIGSEGV on every reboots after the installations with unity7.0.0daily13.04.15-0ubuntu1. This could not be reported due to some obsolete packages available in 20130418 desktop images. Updating the system with the latest packages stopped the crash occurring but the desktop launcher, systems indicator icons on the top left corner and the window frames do not appear now with the updated system. Steps: 1. Install raring desktop i386 on a VM 2. Reboot after the installation (now the dialog informing compiz crash and that it could be reported would appear) 3. Update the system with latest packages 4. Reboot again (now it could be noticed that no icons, launcher and window frames being visible) NB: This issue is only happening on the VMs and not in hw. I have not yet tried with amd64 images, will update if that's needed. [Compiz] [Bug 1060327] Re: compiz crashed with SIGSEGV in compiz::opengl::bindTexImageGLX() from TfpTexture::bindTexImage() from ... from GLTexture::bindPixmapToTexture() from DecorTexture::DecorTextu
Attached a crash file occurred with 1:0.9.9~daily12.12.05 version if it would help. I tried using apport to report a bug with the attached crash file to see if it produce the traces but apport only uploads the crash and not allowing to proceed further in reporting it as a bug. Just to make sure, the crash is occurring in both VBox and KVM and on both amd64 and i386. Just booting with the iso to the live session (do not need to do anything, just wait till you hear the drums sound) will produce the crash. The result is a black blank screen with only the indicator icons at the right corner of the top bar being present. 'sudo pkill -9 X' will bring back the live session desktop and the installation could go ahead from there. ** Attachment added: "_usr_bin_compiz.999.crash" https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/compiz/+bug/1060327/+attachment/3452912/+files/_usr_bin_compiz.999.crash -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of compiz packagers, which is subscribed to compiz in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1060327 Title: compiz crashed with SIGSEGV in compiz::opengl::bindTexImageGLX() from TfpTexture::bindTexImage() from ... from GLTexture::bindPixmapToTexture() from DecorTexture::DecorTexture() To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/compiz/+bug/1060327/+subscriptions ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~compiz Post to : compiz@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~compiz More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp

[Compiz] [Bug 1080674] Re: [QEMU] [LLVMpipe] Corrupted desktop screen for raring desktop installation
Logging in to Gnome Shell and Gnome Classic-(No effect version) show the same corrupted display behaviour. ( Gnome Classic does not let me log in for some reason) The quantal and precise VMs on the same host are working fine. The displays for those VMs in the same host do not get corrupted. Additionally, a quantal VM which did not have this issue in the same host encountered this problem when it was upgraded to raring. So I am not sure if the host is the cause here. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of compiz packagers, which is subscribed to compiz in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1080674 Title: [QEMU] [LLVMpipe] Corrupted desktop screen for raring desktop installation To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/compiz/+bug/1080674/+subscriptions ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~compiz Post to : compiz@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~compiz More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
