[Compiz] [Bug 815996] Re: Desktop occasionally freezes/locks up when switching workspaces

2018-04-03 Thread Will Cooke
I think I set it to Won't Fix because other people had set it to
Triaged, or Fixed Released incorrectly. It's marked as Won't Fix in
Xenial, but if people are able to confirm that it's fixed in a later
release, then people should be free to try and back port to Xenial.

[Compiz] [Bug 1551986] Re: [FFe][UIFe] HUD hotkey assignment is suboptimal

2016-04-13 Thread Will Cooke
It's worth noting that the current alt-space functionality (move,
minimize, maximize etc) will be exposed via the HUD. So that
functionality will remain.

[Compiz] [Bug 1555237] Re: Upgrade from 14.04.4→ 16.04 dies midway taking out the session.

2016-03-19 Thread Will Cooke
I disabled the screensaver in my tests, and it still crashed - just
later on.

I SSH'd in to the box and ran compiz like this:

$ DISPLAY=:0 compiz --replace --debug

and then started the upgrade (with the screensaver disabled). This is
the error I got:

XIO: fatal IO error 11 (Resource temporarily unavailable) on X server ":0"
after 24793 requests (24793 known processed) with 1 events remaining.

Trevinho suggested compiling Compiz with more debugging and trying that.
Assigned to Eleni for more testing.

@skini151 - can you let me know the spec of your CPU? cat /proc/cpuinfo

I'm starting to wonder if this is most visible in lower spec CPUs. For
example, my i3 2.1GHz machine shows tearing without this change and no
tearing with it.

[Compiz] [Bug 1503217] Re: Computer won't boot after installation of Ubuntu

2015-10-07 Thread Will Cooke
This is not a compiz issue.

It is important that bug reports be filed about source packages so that
people interested in the package can find the bugs about it. You can
find some hints about determining what package your bug might be about
at https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Bugs/FindRightPackage. You might also ask for
help in the #ubuntu-bugs irc channel on Freenode.

To change the source package that this bug is filed about visit
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+bug/1503217/+editstatus and add the
package name in the text box next to the word Package.
