There have been many changes in Ubuntu since that time you reported the bug and your problem may have been fixed with some of the updates. Compiz, in particular, is in heavy development and this bug may have been fixed in the development version of Ubuntu (12.04) if not on your current version. If you are able, it would be of great help if you could confirm if the bug still exists by testing a livecd (available at ubuntu.com). When you test it and it is still an issue, kindly upload the updated logs by running apport-collect bug # and any other logs that are relevant for this particular issue. If you are unable to test the development version, please let us know if you are able to reproduce this issue on Ubuntu 11.10. Blurry: On a side note, perhaps grab those commands that prevent Swing using OpenGL, and stick them into your default java settings. Compiz goes down in flames with any java application, save Netbeans, but that's because Netbeans passes command line arguments to prevent the JRE's Swing implementation from using OpenGL compositing. It's been a known issue for a long time, too. If you'd like, I'll follow your steps outlined to report the crashes, but I'm going to run it every time it crashes until you guys finally do something about it. Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. However, your crash report is either missing or challenging to deal with as a .crash file. Please follow these instructions to have apport report a new bug about your crash that can be dealt with by the automatic retracer. If you are running the Ubuntu Stable Release you might need to enable apport in /etc/default/apport and restart. Now open your file manager, navigate to your /var/crash directory and open the crash report you wish to submit. If this fails you will have to open a terminal and file your report with 'ubuntu-bug /var/crash/_my_crash_report.crash' where _my_crash_report.crash is the crash you would like to report. If you get an error that you aren't allowed to access this report you will have to file it with 'sudo ubuntu-bug /var/crash/_my_crash_report.crash'. I'm closing this bug report since the process outlined above will automatically open a new bug report which can then dealt with more efficiently. unity-window-decorator --replacedisown works nicely as well. I think this is a duplicate of 777249. I have exact the same problem with my lenovo T510. It happens after closing a java app (yed) .
