I have in the past, but not recently. It's a pain for me to track though because I have gmail sent to Thunderbird, so I don't know if my posts made it unless I check the archives, or someone responds. By the way, I'm one of those who bought the package with Snow Leopard, but I'm in no hurry to install it. Maybe by December or January, when I have a lot of time, they'll have it ready. Re: [CGUYS] Snow Leopard bug deletes all user data
Tom, you probably know this and just mistyped, but guest accounts aren't new to Snow Leopard. Leopard has guest account functionality too. The bug seems to be new to Snow Leopard though. From:Tom Piwowar t...@tjpa.com Not to be outdone by M$, Apple has got its own catastrophic bug... Snow Leopard's home directory -- the one sporting the name of the Mac's primary user -- is replaced with a new, empty copy after users log-in to a Guest account, log out, then log-in to their standard account. All the standard folders -- Documents, Downloads, Music, Picture and others -- are empty, while the Desktop and Dock have reverted to an out-of-box condition. http://www.computerworld.com/s/article/9139250/Snow_Leopard_bug_deletes_all_user_data This Guest Account function is a new Snow Leopard feature. It lets someone log into a Mac as a temporary user and when their business is done and they logout, all traces of their session are deleted. It looks like Snow Leopard is deleting far more than Apple intended. * ** List info, subscription management, list rules, archives, privacy ** ** policy, calmness, a member map, and more at http://www.cguys.org/ ** *

Re: [CGUYS] Snail Mail
I think the problem was Verizon. I Googled smtp verizon filtered for the last 24 hours and got 376 hits. 13,100 hits in the last week. Lots of mad people. Apparently Verizon is so panicked about handling spam that they are dropping standard email support. The posts linked to http://support.vzw.com/information/smtp_shutdown.html which said After a careful analysis of email messaging, Verizon Wireless has decided to no longer keep and maintain the SMTP Mail Relay Service. To which I respond Doesn't Verizon understand how the Internet works? It is outrageous to just blow off such a critical service. Not sending proper notification to its customers was real rich too. But that's not my current problem. I was not using their SMTP relay. However, this does suggest serious mismanagement. So I tested for that with... telnet smtp.1and1.com 25 and watched it fail to connect. Without notice Verizon decided to block port 25 too. * ** List info, subscription management, list rules, archives, privacy ** ** policy, calmness, a member map, and more at http://www.cguys.org/ ** *
