Yes and no. Gateway is not the same Gateway it once was which is the good and the bad. I cannot remember which major PC manufacturer joined forces with them, but that I think made them stronger, plus I think their original owner came back. Even though I like Dell's unless you buy their better support option it is all farmed out overseas. (I usually buy the better support option) Plus I remember seeing an article a few years ago that said that Dell is really an insurance company that also sells computer equipment. That's bad news if Gateway's original owner came back. After its "timing is everything" inspirational startup in a barn, he was the reason for their descent as he promoted all his friend's / home town boys into middle management. Coming from a beef packing town in Iowa, they knew nothing much about "any business that didn't have a handle on it" so their reputation with customers went to hell and Dell buried them. I know ...
