Re: [CGUYS] LG Flatron W2053TX driver disc problem

2009-12-08 Thread Tony B
If it's not an odd interface like USB, then no driver is needed. Just
update your video card drivers, power down, plug in the DVI cable,
boot. Note that if you have another monitor connected then this one
may not display a picture on boot; you'll have to play with the
multi-monitor settings. It may also not display a picture if it's
plugged into the 'wrong' DVI connector. Long story; just try the other
one.

I see now, that it is not a USB.  But, I don't have the model wrong, because
it is on the front of the monitor and, it doesn't explain, why a driver is
 needed.

I found, even before being concerned about, why it has a drivers disc,
is to replace the disc. I found out, it somehow got warped.

So far, The monitor has been fine this morning. I did a bunch of
updates, via Automatic Updates.

I don't have a second monitor handy, at the moment.

[CGUYS] LG Flatron W2053TX driver disc problem

2009-12-07 Thread Christopher Range
I had to re-format my hard drive and, when I tried to install the
driver, from the driver disc, it told me the disc was damaged. When I
went on LG's website, I couldn't find, where the drivers are located.
Any help would be appreciated.

That's just a monitor, isn't it? You shouldn't need any drivers. Are
you having some specific trouble?

It is a monitor. Just like you, I didn't think I would need drivers for
it. But, There is a driver disc, that came with it. Probably because,
the monitor has a USB connector, instead of a 15-pin connector. The
disc got damaged and, I can't install the driver from the disc.

The same goes for mouse n' keyboard needing drivers. Since they are
also USB.(but the disk is not damaged)

Up until I got my widescreen monitor, I didn't have to worry about
drivers because, I had always used a 17 CRT.

Now, With a USB monitor, I have to think about it.

I really can't recall the last time I ever had to install drivers for a
mouse, keyboard or monitor. Although I don't get weird 18 button mice nor
any kind of special keyboard.
