 It's not a bug, it's an opinion.
My RTC is set to GMT, because that's the way it's usually done on FreeBSD
and Linux works in both modes...

I see that maybe some more people care about having a running Windoze next
to Linux instead of FreeBSD, and Windoze can't handle GMT, so I've
modified (NOT fixed ;) ) the setting for 2.2.13-3mdk.

I don't think the kernel will be finished (currently compiling) in time
 for 6.1 though...

Also when I upgraded to the new kernel the machine stopped powereing off on
Halt. Missed the option in the APM section or something else that is wrong?

Works for me... Anyone else experiencing this problem?
Buggy MainBoard(such as MS-6160) crash (oops) when power off with APM
enabled, If applied with patch real mode APM shutdown , it works.

Nope, it's still mdkinst_stage2.gz

All the problem you had should be fixed (hopefully) very soon. The main problem

That would be the Microsoft way. Fortunately Redhat is not that stupid -

We're already seeing this (they bought Delix, makers of DLD) - it's quite

[Cooker] [panoramix] Still can't install - stage2.img problem

1999-09-08 Thread Garrett Goebel

The short answer is: No don't mirror and burn yet...

I sync'd up and burned my CDRW, booted from it to install, and never got
past "initializing CDROM".

Using ALT-F? I saw the tail portion of a log which read:
 mounting ram3 on /tmp/stage2 as type ext2
 creating directory /tmp/stage2 rc=0
 calling mount(/tmp/ram3, /tmp/stage2, ext2, -1058209791, (nil))
 removing device file /tmp/ram3
 method selection completed
 symlink /tmp/stage2 failed
error in exec of the second stage loader :-(
  error: Not a directory

I hope I copied that down right...

[Cooker] ONBOOT and pcmcia

1999-09-08 Thread Quel Qun

Hi,

I really like that new ONBOOT parameter because I switch daily from one
network to an other and I have my own scripts.

However, one of my ethernet card is a pcmcia and cardmgr starts the
/etc/pcmcia/network script, which doesn't care at all about ONBOOT="no"

For now, I commented out the start line (time is rare), but I'm sure someone
could test the parameter.

Keep going,

[Cooker]

1999-09-08 Thread webmedic

I've been trying to compile a program that was giving me some
funny errors so i posted to the mailing list for it. This is
the response I got.

I got almost the exact same error awhile back. . . swmgr.cpp depends on STL
(Standard Template Library) and right now, egcs is the only gcc derivate that
supports it. You need to
install egcs, and edit the Makefile to point to egcs in order to get it to compile.

My question is, hasn't egcs been incorporated into gcc? Because
I installed gcc and this program still won't install.
