I think the -10 to -18 update had some other security fixes in it. I tried to look it up on Mandrakesecure.net but the webserver looks like it is having trouble connecting to the SQL server right now. The update to -21 removed the packet writing but also included the -18 security fixes. I would say that if you can't get -18, you should be on -21 because of the security issues. -- /g "Outside of a dog, a man's best friend is a book, inside a dog it's too dark to read" -Groucho Marx

How about TTL target patch. There is support for ttl matches, and also iptables libs in 9.2 support TTL target but there is no TTL target patch in kernel. It is seldom used but its nice since with it traceroute doesn't show your firewall :)))
Re[2]: [Cooker] 9.2 ISOs on the mirrors.
O> Ouch There is no need for it now since the LG released updates for their firmware and procedure how to fix the dead drives. It would be nice if Mandrake would release updated iso-s for club members or a howto on how to do it ourselves. btw does this mean that the updated kernel is not necessary ? Are there any changes in the updated kernel except the packet writing being left out ?
[Cooker] [Bug 6362] [automake1.7] AM_INIT_AUTOMAKE broken in autoconf 2.57

It's happening because I'm getting the 1.4 aclocal. In the past you could either have 1.7 or 1.4 installed but not both. It's now using alternatives but 1.4 is the default. So now packages that required 1.6 or 1.7 and assumed that they were getting it on the basis of the package being installed need to also use the version specific path. I'm not sure there's a fix except to write a wrapper that figures out which automake version you really want. But I'm not sure there's a good way to do that. I'll leave it as new in case someone wants to figure out a better way to deal with this. -- Configure bugmail: http://qa.mandrakesoft.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email --- You are receiving this mail because: --- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is. --- Reminder: --- assigned_to: [EMAIL PROTECTED] status: NEW creation_date: description: conifgure.ac's using the new style AC_INIT and AM_INIT_AUTOMAKE macros produce wrong output. [Cooker] Sony Clié, Palm, Handspring, PalmOS users, please read
Folks, I'm trying to fix bug #3381, which is a problem with some Palm/Clié/other PalmOS PDA which requires using /dev/usb/tts/0 instead of /dev/usb/tts/1 Currently, I only know of 3 problematic models : -Sony Clié N770C/E (Vendor=054c ProdID=0060) -Palm m130 (Vendor=0830 ProdID=0050) -Sony Clié 320 (Vendor=054c, ProdID unknown) So, if you have another PDA which requires this kind of changes, please, post it here, with Vendor and ProdID (check /proc/bus/usb/devices after pressing hotsync) If you have a PalmOS PDA which does NOT requires this but which is not correctly described in /usr/share/doc/pilot-link-0.11.8/README.usb (it doesn't have USBx info, it is missing for the list, etc..), please, post here too. I'd like to get the pilot-link up to date to be sure /dev/pilot is always symlinked to the correct usb serial devices. If you have a Palm Tungsten T3, I know they don't work yet but I plan to fix that as soon as I receive mine :)) (probably next week, replacing my Clié N770C/E). Thanks for your cooperation :) -- Frederic Crozat MandrakeSoft

Re: [Cooker] Re: Kernel 2.6 cutover?
My opinion would be we can have 2.6 kernel for workstation installs and 2.4 for server installs. I have been running 2.6 on my laptop and every thing is working so far, save for the PCMCIA. I have not done any investigation into that yet. I would like to have an RC or beta type kernel by or around Jan. [Cooker] Kernel 2.6 cutover?
Just wondering, what is the rough development plan for Cooker? Specifically, at what stage will the kernel 2.6 series be the focus and the 2.4 go to contribs? Is it a stated goal that the 2.6 kernel (not withstanding and "critical" show stopper) will be the main kernel for Mandrake 10.0 (due roughly next March?) The sooner we get kernel 2.6 into the mainstream Cooker - the more testing will take place . . . or is it too soon? Thanks, R.Fox -- Robert Fox <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Fox Consulting Services

But many admins have bad habits (logging in to X as root for example, not securing X correctly when using it on a server). GUI administration can be done just as easily, and probably more securely, without X installed on the server, using X tunneled over SSH. And a lot of administration tasks can be done much more efficiently without a GUI environment (eg via scripting) than with one. About the only GUI tool we use on our servers is diskdrake, because it is convenient to use to resize LVM volumes. Oden, any chance you enable "AllowSupplementaryGroups" in clamd.conf. it would be useful for using clamd with amavisd-new, because you could add clamav user to group amavis and it would just work.
