Sorry. I should have checked first. /sbin/setsysfont is a script.
It would be consolechars from console-tools that is segfaulting.

I'm sure it's no longer valid. Seems to me that as long as one uses the current mdk
kernel, all should be well.
Since the last several kernels will not compile for me (another bug report) I'm still
using my own iptables rpm.
Anyway, never had this problem on my full cooker box. Current mdk kernel and latest
mdk iptables rpms and all is well.

I can't close this report since it isn't mine. Sorry.

As a side note, iptables 1.2.8 is out.

With the latest rebuild, the binary was moved to /usr/games, but it was renamed. Was
this intentional?
Also, there's now an empty directory under /usr/games.
The unused directory /var/lib/games/skobo/ is still in the package.

If you don't mind, can this package stop obsoleting xkobo? My girlfriend actually
prefers xkobo, so I keep it installed. It sucks to have to remember to reinstall
xkobo every time I update skobo.

2.4.21-pre2.1mdk is not on any mirror I know of, but since I haven't seen this bug

If I configure without loadable module support, the kernel will not compile. I can't
remember the error, but it comes early on. Something about MODULE.H. I can add the
message here, but since it only takes a few seconds to reproduce...

If you are referring to the surrounding pixels changing when you draw, I can confirm
this.
I'd hardly call this a critical bug, though. I mean, if your box starts smoking after
install, THAT'S critical.

[Cooker] [Bug 2178] [gpm] Mouse Ps2 +wheel

2003-03-06 Thread rrowan
http://qa.mandrakesoft.com/show_bug.cgi?id=2178

--- Additional Comments From [EMAIL PROTECTED]  2003-03-06 13:02 ---
I don't get any errors from gpm, and gpm works fine at the console for me, but the
wheel does not work in X if X is using gpm for the mouse.
This is probably related to my bug report (2055).
Not using gpm is not a solution here. Some of us like the console.

The usual things like i_blocks is whatever should be whatever. fixed.
Even if this is completely normal, shouldn't rc.sysinit just reboot rather than say

It is still valid, although I have no idea if it is really a problem. It causes no
problems here. I originally reported this as a bug for two reasons. One, because it
MAY affect someone with a different setup. Who knows. Two, for consistency. If the
other scripts check for some reason, maybe this should also.
Anyway, someone who knows more about this should at least set this to a lower
priority, or possibly close it if it isn't a problem.

[Cooker] [Bug 2054] [apcupsd] New: error in the /etc/apcupsd scripts

2003-02-21 Thread rrowan
https://qa.mandrakesoft.com/show_bug.cgi?id=2054

   Product: apcupsd
 Component: program
   Summary: error in the /etc/apcupsd scripts

  Platform: All
OS/Version: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal

ReportedBy: [EMAIL PROTECTED]

The scripts in /etc/apcupsd all have $APCUPSD_MAIL set to no. If it was the
packager's intention to not have apcupsd email problems (good idea in my opinion), may
I reccomend changing no to /bin/false?
Otherwise, if mail should be sent, this should be changed to a mailer binary.

I can't say when exactly this problem came up since the current version is the first
that would work for me since about the new year. The previous version worked, but the
mouse didn't work at all.
If it helps, I use X with gpm (has always worked before). The pointer in question is
a Logitech Trackman Wheel and it works with the standard X mouse driver and the
ImPS2 protocol for both gpm and X.

I'm not sure which of the three printer-* packages is doing this, but one of them
leaves an empty /1 file. I'm pretty sure it's an install script in the rpm. It's
been doing this for a very long time now.

Either rc.sysinit or fsck is causing this, but it started after I updated recently and
got the new e2fsprogs.
Once fsck runs successfully, rc.sysinit sees this as a failure and drops you to a
shell. Is it possible that the return codes from fsck have changed and rc.sysinit
needs to be updated so it knows a real failure from a success?

--- Additional Comments From [EMAIL PROTECTED]  2003-02-21 19:14 ---
Well, I have the the environment vars $LYNX_CFG and $LYNX_LSS pointing to my own
config files. I'd post them here, but I was careful to remove them and test the
problem with the stock config files before I posted the bug.
To be more specific about the problem, lynx shows just about everything in dark blue
and the status bar is dark blue with bright white text. The status bar color should
have been blue and yellow after I deleted my personal configs since that is the
default.

Same thing with both 3.10.5-1mdk and my 3.10.5-2mdk. I hadn't reported it earlier
because where I live the power dips and spikes several times a day (which is why I
bought my UPS to begin with) and all of the emails were getting annoying.
It'd be nice to have an option in apcupsd.conf to control this, but since this is not
a Mandrake issue, I may bring it up with the developers some day.
Since I see the problem in the cooker apcupsd, I'm reopening this as you requested.
Thanks for all your work on both issues. Speaking of the other issue, I have some
information you might find interesting, but I'll but it there.

Here's something you might be interested in.
If apcupsd is started at boot, it uses /dev/console. If you start it AFTER boot, it
uses the vc you started it on. lsof /dev/vc/1 (or tty1) or whatever vc you started it
on should show the nine handles. Hopefully you will see it now. I hate problems that
aren't the same for everyone. They're messy.
I'll leave reopening of the bug to you if you see what I see with this new information.

[Cooker] [Bug 2055] [XFree86] Mouse wheel not working in X

https://qa.mandrakesoft.com/show_bug.cgi?id=2055

Good idea posting the config. Here's mine:
Section InputDevice
 Identifier Mouse
 Driver mouse
 Option Device /dev/gpmdata
 Option Protocol   ImPS/2
 Option Buttons5
 Option Emulate3ButtonsNo
 Option SendCoreEvents True
 Option ZAxisMapping   4 5
EndSection

The sendcoreevents bit was part of an experiment to get the wheel working. It didn't
work.  Here's my /etc/sysconfig/mouse since I use gpm I guess it's relevant:
MOUSETYPE=imps2 -3 -a 3 -d 20 -r 20 -Rimps2
XMOUSETYPE=IMPS/2
XEMU3=no
WHEEL=yes
FULLNAME=Logitech Cordless Wheel Mouse PS/2
device=misc/psaux

I know it looks funky, but it has worked for years with little tweaking. (The wheel
worked too before the new year).

Maybe this has to do with the latest patch to X.

/dev/vc/X is the devfs equivalent of /dev/ttyX
About that virtual terminal thing. I've never tried, but your assumption sounds
reasonable.
I went back to -1mdk because I was concerned about disabling DEBUG as well.

mailx-8.1.1-22mdk is installed here. I don't think it's a build issue, though, since
the cooker package apcupsd-3.10.5-1mdk shows this too. All of the scripts have
APCUPSD_MAIL=no. The only thing I ever change from this package is
/etc/apcupsd/apcupsd.conf.
