[Cooker] [Bug 6325] [Bugzilla] Bugzilla gives weird error !!
http://qa.mandrakesoft.com/show_bug.cgi?id=6325 --- Additional Comments From [EMAIL PROTECTED] 2003-11-09 17:58 --- Bugzilla seems to be converting the platform for a bug from "PC" to "All" when people edit older bugs. This would seem to be due to "All" being a new default. (Whereas "PC" was probably the old default). If you look at your changes to your own older bugs (eg bug 5429), then you'll see that bugzilla has made such a change. It appears only if you are using Mandrake Galaxy theme. - Pay close attention to the line separating URL bar and page contents! It consists of a dark gray area and a light gray area. - Click inversely on page background and in URL bar. - when one of them gains focus, the line will grow one pixel. - Now scroll the web page upwards! The newly generated pixel will scroll along as a gray line on the page background. The same applies for the white line, except that you need to open a page with dark background to notice it. This time, the additional white 1-pixel line appears on the bottom of the web page (when either page contents or URL bar gains focus) and then remains as you scroll downwards. I know this kernel has hundreds of patches added to it that are not in the main tree. Although I understand the need to support lots of hardware (I know I've got some difficult stuff) I'm sure it is very wrong to do it like this (lots of patches on top of pre releases of the next kernel). A solution would be to get an "Alan Cox" to work for/with mandrake as a lieutenant for Linux Torvalds or Marcelo or both. That way people will trust these kernels and they will be tested very thoroughly. As it is now, whenever there's a kernel bug, you couldn't possibly have the manpower/knowledge to find the source of it in the big pile of patches you have included. Getting an "Alan" and having him as a trusted part of the kernel community will probably take years, unless you get Alan himself ;-), but it'll be worth it!

On pressing 'Finish' to exit the wizard the new parameters are used to set up the card, and it starts working. Still the same results. No matter how many times I tried, it still said that internet connection sharing was disabled. My feeling was that this was a problem with shorewall, so I went to the Firewall Wizard, and sure enough the wizard said that the firewall was blocking nothing. So I tried to tell it to block everything. Still no internet connection sharing, so I go and check the firewall settings in the wizard again--it says nothing is blocked. Regardless of how many times I tell it to block everything, it says nothing is blocked. This RC 1 seems to have more bugs than the original beta. I had very few problems with 9.1 Beta 1 and am having tons of problems with 9.1 RC 1.
