I replaced 3 -10mdk with older -5mdk packages and it works fine.All
others, some before and all others after -5mdk update don't work. 
Except XFree86-3 without 3D. All the others freeze and have to do a cold
reboot.

[Cooker] XFree86 problems

I'm having XFree86 problems with my ATI 3D Rage Pro card.
At present I'm using XFree86-4.0.2.5mdk with no problems. All updates to
6, 7 and 8 causes the screen to be half size with the right half
compressed. This a is in 4 mode. In 3.3.6 mode the system locks up and
have to do a cold reboot.

Thanks for the response but neither dri and/or glx enabled or disabled
works. 
I forgot to mention it but it only works in 3.3.6 mode without 3D.
